Coventry City are hoping to pick up another huge three points as they take on Newcastle United in the Premier League on Monday.
Coventry are currently 18th in the Premier League table with three points from five games. It's been a tough start to life back in the Premier League for the Sky Blues, who were without a point until the final game before the international break where they recorded a huge 1-0 win away at Nottingham Forest.
Coventry's other results have included losses to Arsenal (3-0), Hull (0-1), Man City (1-0) and Brighton (0-5). As those results show, Frank Lampard's men have been struggling in front of goal having scored only once in five games. That's reflected in their creative stats, with the team producing just 1.16xG per 90 - the second lowest average in the league.
Newcastle, meanwhile, sit 9th in the league with eight points from five games. The Magpies have started the season well despite much uncertainty and scepticism surrounding their prospects under Matthias Jaissle.
The team have recorded wins over Tottenham (2-0) and Hull (2-1), while drawing with Liverpool (2-2) and Bournemouth (2-2) while losing to Leeds United (4-1).
Despite results being good, performances have been mixed, with their last three showings against Bournemouth, Leeds and Hull producing somewhat unconvincing performances.
Their underlying numbers would suggest a team that might be higher in the table than their performances warrant, with their xG per 90 rate only marginally above Coventry's at 1.17xG while their expected goals against rate is 2xGA, the worst in the entire league.
Coventry may not have enough firepower to punish Newcastle, but they'll be a tricky customer for a Magpies side that are difficult to draw any real conclusions on.
