Crystal Palace vs Brighton & Hove Albion Prediction

Crystal Palace versus Brighton & Hove Albion will be an interesting contest as both sides play an attractive brand of football, however, something that makes this contest even more intriguing is the fact that this is the M23 derby.

Oliver Glasner’s side enter this game in the midst of a solid run of form, as they’ve won five and drawn one of their last six matches, while Brighton enter this game without a win in their last three matches since beating Fulham on 8th March.

The Eagles’ home record is poor though, as they have won just four of their 15 matches at Selhurst Park, while drawing five and losing six, accumulating just 17 points from 15 games in the process.

Brighton have earned 23 points from 15 games on the road, however, their defence is leaky, having conceded 26 goals while scoring 27 times, meaning that there is a good possibility of the Both Teams to Score market landing.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 2-2 Brighton & Hove Albion

Crystal Palace vs Brighton & Hove Albion Prediction & Preview

12th-place Crystal Palace hosts eighth-place Brighton & Hove Albion at Selhurst Park in what is set to be a hotly contested M23 derby.

Date: 05/04/2025

Location: Selhurst Park

Time: 3pm

The last head-to-head clash between these two sides resulted in an impressive 3-1 victory for Crystal Palace at the Amex Stadium, as Trevoh Chalobah put the Eagles in the lead in the 27th-minute, before an Ismaila Sarr brace put them in firm control of the game. Brighton managed to get a late consolation goal as Marc Guehi put through his own net in the 87th-minute.

Crystal Palace are having a solid first full season under Glasner, as they have earned 40 points from 29 matches, seeing them sit seven points behind their rivals Brighton having played one game fewer.

Glasner’s side actually had a very slow start to the season, as they managed to win just one of their first 13 league matches, seeing them as potential relegation candidates, however, since then, they have won nine of their last 16 Premier League games, firmly consolidating their place in the top-flight for another season.

On top of their excellent run of league form, Palace have also managed to reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup where they’ll face Aston Villa, having progressed past the likes of Stockport County (1-0), Doncaster Rovers (2-0), Millwall (3-1) and Fulham (3-0).

Brighton are having a superb first campaign under Fabian Hürzeler, as they sit eighth in the standings with 47 points from 30 matches, seeing them trail fourth-place Manchester City by just four points in the race for Champions League football.

The Seagulls suffered quarter-final heartbreak in the FA Cup as they were beaten by Nottingham Forest on penalties after a 0-0 draw at the Amex Stadium. Albion will be determined to make amends here by earning a memorable M23 derby victory.

Form Guide

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace have won four and drawn one of their last five matches.

The Eagles managed to salvage a late point away at bottom of the table Southampton thanks to a 92nd-minute goal from Matheus Franca after Paul Onuachu had given the Saints a shock lead in the 20th-minute.

Prior to that game, Palace had beaten the likes of Fulham (3-0), Ipswich Town (1-0), Millwall (3-1) and Aston Villa (4-1).

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton’s form has been inconsistent of late, as they have lost both of their last two matches against Aston Villa (3-0) and Nottingham Forest (4-3 on penalties after a 0-0 draw).

In the run-up to those matches, the Seagulls had drawn 2-2 at Manchester City after beating both Fulham and Newcastle United via 2-1 scorelines.
