Crystal Palace vs Luton Town Prediction, Tips & Stats

Luton Town are aiming to close the gap on Nottingham Forest this weekend with the Hatter back in the relegation zone with a visit away to Selhurst Park up next for the club.

Palace themselves have had struggles in the past few months, but with Oliver Glasner replacing Roy Hodgson in the past few weeks, the Eagles have won one and lost the other game after a beating from Tottenham Hotspur in north London. Nevertheless, a comfortable win over Burnley meant Glasner got off to a winning start and, but fears of a move towards relegation are still lingering with Palace only above Luton by eight points in the table.

A win for Luton would not move them out of relegation but to potentially within one point of Nottingham Forest in 17th. The Hatters could also pull Palace right into the mix by five points.

Regardless, Luton are in terrible form once again and their struggles right now are very similar to how they went many games without a win at the start of the season. This run started with them even losing 3-1 to last-placed Sheffield United at home, in what was no doubt their worst result of the season.

They then lost at home to Manchester United before a 4-1 defeat at Anfield to Liverpool and a 6-2 battering from Manchester City in the FA Cup at Kenilworth Road. Luton also suffered a 3-2 loss to Aston Villa in yet another home defeat last time out.

It's a tough game to call given the poor form of both teams, but it does seem as if Glasner might be able to get all three points after beating Burnley in their last outing at Selhurst Park.

          Luton Town team news

Luton's drop back into the bottom three has been coupled with a bunch of injuries too. Tom Lockyear is likely out for a long time after his cardiac arrest, while Marvelous Nakamba is also out for the season. Gabriel Osho has been in good form in 2024 but he is facing a late fitness test here. Elijah Adebayo is also not going to play here alongside Jacob Brown and Dan Potts. Mads Andersen is nearing a return but is not quite ready to do so here, and Amari'i Bell is also out with a knock. Sambi Lokonga seems to be back fit.
