Everton and Brighton & Hove Albion will meet at Goodison Park this weekend for a huge matchup where the Toffees look to make it three wins in a row just as the Seagulls look to overturn a tough bout of form.
Although they are still in a very healthy spot in the league table and are no doubt well on course to replicate the excellent form shown last season, Brighton are still heading into this one having failed to win any of their past four games since beating Bournemouth in a south coast derby back in September.
It makes it their worst run of form under Roberto De Zerbi. The club would go on to lose 6-1 to Aston Villa in their heaviest loss experienced under the Italian, while they also drew 2-2 with Liverpool shortly after also drawing with Marseille in the Europa League.
They did get a win in the Europa League when they met with Ajax last Thursday, as Ansu Fati kept up his excellent form with a goal that day alongside a first half finish from Joao Pedro in what was a very comfortable game for the Seagulls.
Last time out Brighton drew with Fulham in the Premier League and were not in midweek EFL Cup action. This saw Evan Ferguson return to the goalscoring sheet with a goal in the first half before a late equaliser from the Cottagers.
Everton have scored 13 goals fewer than Brighton heading into this game and have now scored only 10 goals across 10 games - only those in the bottom four have netted fewer. Worse yet, they've also conceded 14 goals too and won just three games. On the other hand, they have turned around their woeful start to the season and now won four of their past five games, losing only in a Merseyside derby to Liverpool which is obviously barely a surprise.
These victories have seen Sean Dyche's men defeat Bournemouth where Dominic Calvert-Lewin got back amongst the goals with a finish after a dreadful loss to Luton Town. Then came the Merseyside derby defeat before Everton would beat West Ham United last time out and start November with a fantastic 3-0 win over Dyche's former side Burnley.
