Everton and Tottenham Hotspur will clash at Goodison Park in a crucial game at either end of the Premier League table with the home side aiming to leap out of the bottom three just as Spurs look to hang on to fourth.
There is a chance that Tottenham will overtake their north London rivals this weekend, as Arsenal meet with Liverpool on Sunday in a game their arch rivals could well lose. On the other hand, with such a sensational goals difference record for Arsenal, the Lilywhites need to win here and hope Arsenal lose to the league leaders but also hope of a dramatic overturn in goals in order to move into third.
Tottenham have now scored 47 times after their 3-2 win against Brentford, although their inability to keep a clean sheet once again now means they have let in 33 goals - no side in the top eight has conceded more and this now means Spurs have been involved in the most goals after 22 games.
The victory over the Bees was Spurs' first in two games after a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford with Manchester United and a 1-0 loss at home to Manchester City in the FA Cup put them on a two-game winless run and inflicted the first-ever loss against City at home in the Pep Guardiola era.
As for Everton, not only did they lose at home for the second time this season to relegation rivals Luton Town, but their FA Cup exit to the Hatters has also been coupled with them moving ahead of the Toffees and out of the relegation zone.
Everton now sit one point adrift of Luton in the fight to survive, but worse yet, Sean Dyche's men also have to sit back and watch Luton play a game in hand, which could well create a four-point gap on the safe spots of the Premier League.
