Liverpool are hoping to strengthen their grip on the top five places in the Premier League as they take on an out of sorts Chelsea side this weekend.
Liverpool enter this game 4th in the league table with 58 points. A disappointing campaign is tamely petering out as they limp towards securing Champions League football for the 2026-27 season.
Their form coming into this one is mixed, with three wins and two losses from their last five games following wins over Fulham (2-0), Everton (2-1) and Crystal Palace (3-1) and defeats to PSG (0-2) and Man United (3-2).
Their form as Anfield, however, is far more convincing, with the Reds losing just two of their last ten on home soil, winning seven of those.
Arne Slot's side are a fairly high-event unit, with 60% of their last ten games seeing over 2.5 goals scored. BTTS, meanwhile, has occurred in 50% of their last ten outings, including in each of their last three on the spin.
Liverpool are unbeaten against Chelsea in each of the last four head-to-head meetings between the sides at Anfield, and they'll fancy themselves to come out on top here too.
Like Liverpool, Chelsea's season has been a major disappointment, but given they're highly likely to miss out on Champions League football, it's a potentially more disastrous campaign. They can still salvage it by winning the FA Cup against Man City next week, but should they miss out on that trophy their season will be characterised by lows and failures.
Form-wise, Chelsea have won just two of their last ten games, losing eight of those. This marks one of their worst runs of form in quite some time as they come into this game amidst a toxic atmosphere at the club.
70% of Chelsea's last ten outings have seen at least three goals scored, so we can hope for a high-scoring encounter here. They've shipped 22 goals in that time though, so they'll know they need to keep things tight at the back.
Ultimately, Liverpool profile as the more stable team heading into this game, and their good form at Anfield should be enough to see them win.
Liverpool 2-1 Chelsea
