However, Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden both scored to give City the 3 - 1 win. Back in the Premier League, City hosted a struggling Chelsea. Raheem Sterling gave Chelsea the lead over his former club at halftime but Rodri equalised in the 83rd minute to grab a 1 - 1 draw for City.

The visit from Brentford saw Erling Haaland scored the only goal of the game in the 71st minute to give City the 1 - 0 win, with City having 11 shots on target in comparison to Brentford’s two shots on target. It was another 1 - 0 win for City the next time out, this time against Bournemouth. Foden was the name on the scoresheet in the first half to secure the 1 - 0 win for City.

The last time out for City was against Luton Town in the Fifth Round of the FA Cup. Jordan Clark did get a brace for Luton but Haaland scored five in under an hour and Mateo Kovacic joined him on the scoresheet in the 6 - 2 win.

Manchester United, on the other hand, currently sit sixth in the Premier League. United have 14 wins, two draws and ten losses which leaves them on 44 points, three points behind Tottenham and five points ahead of Brighton.

In their last five games in all competitions, United have four wins and one loss.

Rasmus Hojlund gave United the 1 - 0 lead at halftime, and Alejandro Garnacho grabbed a second half brace to give United the 3 - 0 win, despite having ten less shots than West Ham. Hojlund was on the scoresheet again for United but Douglas Luiz equalised for Aston Villa with 20 minutes to go. However, Scott McTominay scored in the 86th minute to grab a 2 - 1 win for United.

United picked up another 2 - 1 win next time out, this time against Luton Town. Hojlund grabbed both of the goals before the ten minute mark, and despite Carlton Morris scoring before the 15 minute mark, United held on for the 2 - 1 win.
