Manchester City will be looking to bounce back from two damaging defeats as they take on a Wolverhampton Wanderers side that has shown signs of improvement in recent weeks under Rob Edwards.
The Citizens were thoroughly beaten by Manchester United at the weekend in the Manchester derby, and in midweek, Pep Guardiola's men suffered an embarrassing defeat against Bodø/Glimt in the Champions League, leaving the hosts for this fixture slightly vulnerable. The home side's defensive problems could be solved by the addition of Marc Guehi, who was unavailable for the midweek Champions League fixture and was signed too late for the defeat against bitter rivals Manchester United. At home in the Premier League, Manchester City are still going strong with 26 points from a possible 33, only league leaders Arsenal having a better home record.
As for Wolves, the visitors are on their best run of form for quite a long time, as Rob Edwards' side are unbeaten in their last five matches in all competitions. Interestingly, Wolves have won more Premier League games in 2026 than Manchester City and Liverpool combined. Wolves are yet to break their seal away from home, though, with the side losing eight of their 11 games on the road and drawing three. Rob Edwards' side has lost the last four meetings between the two clubs.
Goals are sure to come, especially with how open Manchester City have been at the back. Over 2.5 goals have been scored in seven of the last eight meetings between the two sides, so the same market should apply here.
Man City 3-1 Wolves
