While we're expecting a close game between these two teams, we're backing Chelsea to come away with all three points courtesy of a 2-1 victory at Old Trafford.

Chelsea are unbeaten in their opening four league games, picking up two wins and two draws. One of those victories arrived away from Stamford Bridge as Chelsea thrashed West Ham 5-1 at the London Stadium. Manchester United, on the other hand, have lost two of their first four Premier League games and were knocked out of the EFL Cup by Grimsby Town.

Both teams have scored in three of Man Utd's last four outings in league and cup, and the same applies to Chelsea. The Londoners are unbeaten in their last three meetings with the Red Devils, securing two wins and a draw, and both teams have scored in seven of the duo's last eight Premier League encounters.

Chelsea have scored at least two goals in their last three league games and have only managed to keep one clean sheet during that period, and United have conceded at least two goals in each of their last three matches across all competitions.

Chelsea were involved in European action in midweek, while Man Utd have had a full week to prepare for this weekend's encounter. This is one of the key reasons why we expect a narrow margin of victory for the visitors at Old Trafford. However, Chelsea certainly possesses the squad depth to field a rotated starting lineup against Manchester United and still get a result.

United head into Saturday's match on the back of a heavy 3-0 defeat in the Manchester derby, while Chelsea will have been disappointed not to have secured all three points from their game against Brentford after taking the lead late on, only to concede a stoppage-time equaliser as the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
