Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United meet in the lunchtime kick-off on Saturday, with this fixture being the first since the two sides met in the Europa League final back in May, to which Spurs ended their 17-year-long wait for a major trophy at the expense of Ruben Amorim's men.
Thomas Frank's side provided a much-improved display against F.C. København in midweek, as, despite the numerical advantage for the Danish visitors, the North London side recorded an excellent 4-0 victory. A particular standout was Micky van de Ven, who scored a superb solo effort, taking the ball from his own half before finishing emphatically past the F.C. København goalkeeper. Tottenham Hotspur have endured mixed fortunes in the Premier League, with two wins, one draw and two losses in their previous five league games.
As for Manchester United, their form has improved under Ruben Amorim, as the Portuguese manager is on his best run of form since joining the club back in November 2024. The Red Devils are unbeaten in their last four league games, with three wins and a single draw. Whilst the visitors have shown some form of consistency, their rate of goals conceded will allow Tottenham Hotspur to capitalise. Manchester United have conceded 16 goals in 10 matches, compared to Tottenham Hotspur, who have conceded eight but have scored 17.
What stands out when examining the recent record in this fixture is that Manchester United have not beaten Tottenham Hotspur in their last seven meetings, with the home side having recorded four consecutive wins against the Red Devils. More importantly, Manchester United have not won a league match away at Tottenham Hotspur since 2021, when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was in charge.
Goals are usually the norm with games involving Manchester United, as over 2.5 goals have been scored in eight of the last nine with the Red Devils.
We think this will be a high-scoring fixture, but given how Manchester United have fared against Tottenham Hotspur in recent meetings, Spurs are likely to find the edge in this fixture.
Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 Manchester United.
