West Ham vs Nottingham Forest Preview, Tips & Stats

The London Stadium hosts West Ham and Nottingham Forest this Sunday in a mid table clash in the Premier League. The two sides sit next to each other on the table and need a win to get themselves in the conversation of potential European football.

West Ham currently sit 12th in the Premier League after 11 games. The Hammers have four wins, two draws and five losses which leaves them on 14 points, six points from the last European place.

In their last five games in all competitions, West Ham have two wins and three losses. In the Europa League, West Ham travelled to Greece to face Olympiacos. Kostas Fortunis and Rodinei both scored to give Olympiacos the 2 - 0 lead at halftime. Lucas Paqueta scored late on, but it wasn’t enough as Olympiacos grabbed a 2 - 1 win. This was then compounded by a loss in the Premier League against Everton. Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored the only goal of the game in the 1 - 0 win for Everton.

In the Round of 16 of the League Cup West Ham hosted Arsenal. An own goal from Ben White opened the scoring and goals from Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen gave West Ham a 3 - 0 lead, Martin Odegaard scored late on but The Hammers held on for the 3 - 1 win. Back in the Premier League, West Ham travelled to Brentford. Neal Maupay gave Brentford an early lead but goals from Kudus and Bowen gave West Ham the 2 - 1 lead at halftime. However, an own goal from Konstantinos Mavropanos and a goal from Nathan Collins gave Brentford the 3 - 2 win.

The last time out for West Ham was against Olympiacos in the Europa League. This time The Hammers were on the winning side with a Paqueta goal giving West Ham the 1 - 0 win.

Nottingham Forest sit just below West Ham in 13th. In 11 games, Forest have three wins, four draws and four losses, leaving them on 13 points, seven points above the relegation zone.

In their last five games, Nottingham Forest have one win, three draws and one loss. Moussa Niakhate was shown a red card in the 56th minute against Brentford and The Bees immediately took advantage with a goal from Christian Norgaard. However, Nicolas Dominguez grabbed a goal to end the game at 1 - 1. Next time out against Crystal Palace was a goalless affair where Forest could only manage five attempts on goal.

Chris Wood starred for Forest with a brace against Luton Town to give Forest the 2 - 0 lead entering the latter stages. Chiedozie Ogbene and Elijah Adebayo, however, both scored late on to grab a 2 - 2 draw for Luton. Forest could only register one shot on target in the loss to Liverpool where Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah all scored in the 3 - 0 win for Liverpool.

The most recent outing for Nottingham Forest was a win against Aston Villa. Ola Aina and Orel Mangala both scored in the 2 - 0 win for Forest.
