Queens Park Rangers will be looking to move into the top six at the weekend as they host Bristol City, who could also rise up the table with a win. QPR will be back at home after two consecutive games away against Bournemouth and Reading.
The hosts are currently sitting outside the top six places in 7th place after seven games. Their form is very balanced across the board with three wins, three draws and one single defeat. The single defeat took place in their previous game against AFC Bournemouth who are in third place. QPR could count themselves highly unfortunate in that game, having had 60% possession and 15 shots on goal but could only manage a consolation goal through Sam McCallum.
The R’s have scored 15 goals in seven games so far this season in the Championship, which gives them an average of 2.1 goals per game. Defensively, they tend to concede on average 1.4 goals a game but they have shown great resilience so far this season in comebacks against Reading to note.
Bristol City have the chance to overtake Queens Park Rangers in the league table but will need a three goal winning margin to overcome their hosts. The Robins are currently 12th in the league table after seven games played. They have two victories to their name, with three draws and two losses to their name.In their last five games, two of their league victories have taken place against Reading and Cardiff City.
The last two games have ended in a draw and in particular the result against Luton Town was a bitter one to take. Luton scored in the 91st to deny The Robins the win.Nigel Pearson’s side have scored on average 1.1 goals per game and have conceded the same amount on average.
Prediction: QPR 3-1 Bristol City @12/1
