Championship odds and tips for a key match in the Championship play-off race on Saturday afternoon, as Stoke City play host to Blackburn Rovers.
Seventh-placed Blackburn gained three points on sixth-placed Stoke in midweek. The Potters were left frustrated with a 1-0 defeat away to Bristol City, while Blackburn come into this contest buoyed by a brilliant 4-0 victory over Peterborough.
Stoke were looking to register a fourth successive victory at Ashton Gate on Wednesday, having already beaten Blackpool (1-0), Luton (1-0) and Peterborough (2-0) but came away empty-handed in spite of being "clearly the better side" in the words of boss Michael O'Neill, a statement backed up by the stats: 65% possession, 13 shots to eight, four on target to two. It maintained a curious record this season where Stoke will often fail to win after producing some of their better performances, while on other occasions they've been able to grind out wins while not playing especially well.
Blackburn have not been especially consistent this season - they've only won back-to-back games - but picking up wins regularly enough is enough to have them knocking on the door of a top six. Their points tally of 30 is the most at this stage of the season since they returned to the Championship in 2018.
It was against admittedly poor opposition - only Barnsley have picked up fewer points this season than Peterborough - but Blackburn produced a sensational performance to sweep them away with a 4-0 win on Wednesday, looking utterly dominant. Tony Mowbray praised his young players for a "very professional performance".
Bragging rights have been quite shared evenly since these two sides joined one another in the Championship in 2018; two wins each and two draws from the last six meetings. Blackburn have won on two of their previous three meetings to the Bet365 Stadium, but did lose 1-0 on their last visit last December.
