PSG vs Newcastle Prediction, Tips & Stats

PSG welcome Newcastle to the Parc des Princes this Tuesday for matchday five of the Champions League. Both sides still stand a chance of qualification but will be looking for a win this week to solidify their positions.

PSG currently sit second in Group F after four games. The French side have two wins and two losses, leaving them on six points, one point behind Borussia Dortmund, one point ahead of AC Milan and two points ahead of Newcastle.

In their last five games in all competitions, PSG have four wins and one loss. Warren Zaire-Emery opened the scoring for PSG and the lead was doubled by Kylian Mbappe. Steve Mounie and Jeremy Le Douaron brought Brest level just after halftime, but Mbappe scored his second of the game in the 89th minute for the 3 - 2 win for PSG. Lee Kang-in, Zaire-Emery and Vitinha all scored in the 3 - 0 demolition of Montpellier where PSG had 21 shots with ten being on target.

In the Champions League, PSG travelled to the San Siro to face AC Milan. Milan Skriniar opened the scoring for PSG in the ninth minute but Rafael Laeo and Olivier Giroud both scored in the 2 - 1 win for Milan despite PSG’s 70% of the possession. However, PSG bounced back in Ligue 1 against Reims. Mbappe grabbed a hat-trick to give PSG the dominant 3 - 0 win.

The last time out for PSG was against Monaco. Goncalo Ramos opened the scoring for PSG but just four minutes later Takumi Minamino drew Monaco level. However, Mbappe would convert a penalty and Ousmane Dembele and Vitinha would score before the next Monaco goal from Folarin Balogun. Randal Kolo Muani then scored in the 96th minute to secure the 5 - 2 win for Monaco.

Newcastle, on the other hand, sit bottom of Group F. In four games, The Magpies have one win, one draw and two losses which leaves them on four points, a point behind AC Milan and two points behind PSG.

In their last five games, Newcastle have three wins and two losses. In the Round of 16 of the League Cup, Newcastle travelled to Manchester United. Miguel Almiron, Lewis Hall and Joe Willock all scored in the 3 - 0 win for Newcastle. Back in the Premier League, Newcastle handed Arsenal their first loss of the season. Anthony Gordon scored the only goal of the game to grab a 1 - 0 win for Newcastle.

In the Champions League, Newcastle faced Borussia Dortmund. Niclas Fullkrug and Julian Brandt both scored in the 2 - 0 win for Dortmund despite Newcastle having more of the possession. However, in the Premier League, Newcastle suffered a shock defeat to Bournemouth. Dominic Solanke scored twice in the second half to give The Cherries the 2 - 0 win.

The most recent outing for Newcastle was against Chelsea. Alexander Isak, Jamaal Lascelles, Joelinton and Gordon all scored in the 4 - 1 dismantling of ten-man Chelsea, who had Reece James sent off.

PSG and Newcastle have only met once, that being the clash earlier this year. Miguel Almiron, Dan Burn, Sean Longstaff and Fabian Schar all scored in the 4 - 1 win for Newcastle, with Lucas Hernandez on the scoresheet for PSG.
