PSV Eindhoven vs. Lens Prediction, Tips & Stats

PSV Eindhoven are looking to notch their first win of their Champions League campaign as they face Lens on Wednesday.

PSV Eindhoven currently sit bottom of Group B with two draws and one loss from three games so far.

A thumping 4-0 loss at Arsenal preceded successive draws against Sevilla, 2-2, and Lens, 1-1.

The Dutch side desperately need to win this game to stand any chance of qualifying from this group as a loss here would see them eliminated with only 3rd place left to play for in the event that Arsenal also beat Sevilla.

They're coming into this game in very good form, unbeaten in their last nine games having won seven of them - including four of their last five.

Their most recent outing saw them surge to a 6-0 win over Heracles, a result that means they're entering this game in excellent shape.

Having already drawn with Lens away from home they'll feel like they've done the hard part of this double header and will back themselves to get the job done in front of their own fans.

Lens currently sit 2nd in Group B with one win and two draws from three games in this season's campaign.

The French side began with a 1-1 draw in Seville before a 2-1 win over Arsenal followed by a 1-1 draw with this week's opponents.

Lens have been surprisingly impressive in this competition despite displaying poor league form in Ligue 1 this season, with Europe seemingly a refuge for this crop of players.

Lens are an extremely well coached and well drilled unit that defend excellently, and are a team seemingly set up perfectly for European football.

They're coming into this game amidst a mixed run of form having gone unbeaten in their last nine games in all competitions but having drawn five of those including four of their last five.

Lens' most recent game saw them held to a 0-0 draw away at Lorient in a disappointing result.

Their inability to swing tight games could work agains them in the final weeks of this campaign but if they win here and Arsenal do them a favour against Sevilla they'll have sewn up qualification for the knockout rounds.

For our PSV vs. Lens prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.

          PSV Team News

Noa Lang, Armando Obispo, Mauro Júnior and Armel Bella-Kotchap are all absent for a fairly injury-hit PSV side.

The Dutch outfit will likely field the same XI that started the 6-0 win at Heracles at the weekend.

          Lens Team News

Lens will continue to be without Jimmy Cabot and Wuilker Fairnez for this one while Wesley Said and David Costa are both out for the French side here.

Summer signing Elye Wahi has two goals and one assist in three games so far this season so Lens will be hoping he can fire them to a result on Wednesday night.
