Inter Milan head to Spain to meet with Real Sociedad this Wednesday as the Italian giants come into this one just three months on from losing the Champions League final and after beating rivals AC Milan over the weekend.
Inter were beaten by Manchester City in the final back in June, and despite the defeat, the Italian side could well have won it with the likes of Romelu Lukaku missing key chances.
Nevertheless, two years on from winning Serie A, the club have established themselves as the clear favourites to win the title this time around with all 12 points from the first four games collected after a stunning win in the Milan derby.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan managed to bag a brace that day with a goal after only five minutes and another in the second half. Marcus Thuram kept up his excellent start to life in Serie A with the goal of the game that saw him bag a thumping finish. Former AC man, Hakan Calhanoglu, bagged from the penalty spot, as Davide Frattesi scored just in the final few minutes of added time.
Inter have also beaten Fiorentina by a convincing 4-0 scoreline with another goal that day from Thuram. Lautaro Martinez also scored twice that day in what has been a fantastic start to the season for the Argentine. Calhanoglu also got another penalty. Martinez also has goal against Cagliari as Inter won 2-0, and the striker scored a brace in the 2-0 win against Monza. Denzel Dumfries has Inter's other goal, while the goal from Rafael Leao in the 5-1 win over AC Milan is the only goal Inter have conceded so far.
As for Sociedad, they lost 2-1 to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu last time out, as they led through Ander Barranetxea after just five minutes before goals in the second half for Real. This means just one win in La Liga for Sociedad, as they managed to smash Granada 5-3 with a brace from Takefusa Kubo and another goal from Barranextea and Martin Zubimendi.
The Spanish side have also drawn 1-1 with Girona and Las Palmes this season while registering a 0-0 tie with Celta Vigo too. This puts Sociedad in 11th and with already a gap of four points on the top four after finishing fourth by seven points last season.
