Lithuania vs. Bulgaria Prediction, Tips & Stats

Lithuania face Bulgaria in EURO 2024 qualifying this weekend with both sides in need of a win.

Lithuania currently sit 4th in qualifying Group G with one defeat from one game in qualification so far.

Lithuania began their campaign with a 2-0 defeat away at Serbia, a result that was not unexpected since Serbia are group favourites and by far the strongest side on paper.

The Eastern European side are entering this game in abysmal form having won just one of their last fifteen matches, with the sole win coming against San Marino.

Their current FIFA ranking is 146th, making them the 7th worst side in Europe based on that system so they're essentially only here to make up the numbers.

Their form away from home is extremely discouraging too, with Lithuania failing to win any of their last six games on home soil.

They'll do what they can to give a good amount of themselves but it's going to be tough for them to register a win in this campaign.

If they're going to get a win this is by far their best chance, but their attempts will more than likely be unsuccessful.

Bulgaria currently sit bottom of Group G with no wins from their first two games of qualifying.

Bulgaria were disappointingly beaten 0-1 by Montenegro before succumbing to a 3-0 battering at the hands of Hungary.

Bulgaria's chances of progressing from this group were always slim, but after such a poor start there is virtually no chance of them claiming a top two finish in the group so they'll likely spend the next few games attempting to restore some pride.

They're coming into this game out of form having failed to win any of their last three matches while winning only three of their last fourteen outings.

Their form away from home is more promising, however, having won two, drawn one and lost one of their last four games on the road.

Bulgaria have won two of the three head-to-head meetings between these two sides, but Lithuania won the most recent meeting 3-1 back in 2021 at this stadium so Bulgaria could find things tricky here.

For our Lithuania vs. Bulgaria prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.

19-year-old Gvidas Gineitis is the headline name in this side with the youngster currently plying his trade in Serie A for Torino.

Fedor Černych is just seven goals shy of becoming Lithuania's all-time top scorer and he will likely earn his 84th cap here.

        Bulgaria Team News

Defender Dimo Krastev, just 20-years-old, is currently with Serie A side Fiorentina and he'll be looking to earn his 2nd cap for his country here.

19-year-old Nikola Iliev is also a feature of Inter Milan's youth team and there is a lot of hype surrounding the youngster so fans will likely want to see more of him here as he looks to earn his 7th cap.
