Northern Ireland search for a much-needed win in EURO 2024 qualifying as they face Kazakhstan on Monday.
Northern Ireland currently sit 5th in qualifying Group H with one win and two losses from three games so far.
Michael O'Neill's side started their campaign with a 2-0 win over San Marino before succumbing to consecutive 1-0 losses at the hands of Finland and most recently Denmark.
The 0-1 defeat at home to Finland was particularly disappointing given they're a direct rival for 2nd place in the group, and giving up the game with home advantage will likely have huge consequences for their qualification campaign.
They're coming into this game in poor form overall having lost three of their last five matches, and their home form isn't much better either having also lost three of their last five on home soil.
This game is unequivocally a must-win for Northern Ireland as a loss at home to Kazakhstan will mean curtains for their bid to seal a place in Germany.
It's still an uphill battle regardless of what happens here, but three points is non-negotiable for Michael O'Neill's men.
Kazakhstan currently sit 2nd in qualifying Group H with two wins and one loss from their first three matches.
Following a 1-2 loss to Slovenia in their opening fixture, Kazakhstan made amends in unexpectedly excellent fashion with an enthralling 3-2 win over group favourites Denmark in their following game.
After that, Kazakhstan sealed a confutable 3-0 win over San Marino to confirm a solid start to qualifying.
Kazakhstan have never reached the finals of a major tournament and many will feel that this is their best opportunity to do so given the competitiveness of the group with no side looking capable of dominating.
Three points here would really start to get the fan base excited but their record away from home is a big concern with the Kazakhs win against San Marino their only away win in their last five matches with three of those ending in defeat.
Still, confidence will be high in the Kazakhstan camp and with their opponents coming off the back of successive defeats and out of form they'll feel the time is ripe for them to secure a gargantuan three points.
For our Northern Ireland vs. Kazakhstan prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.
