The Republic of Ireland are aiming to bounce back from yet another defeat when they lost to Greece last weekend with the Irish surely set to have three points in the bag against Gibraltar this Monday.
Gibraltar have lost all three of their games in the Euro qualifiers by a 3-0 scoreline and racked up just three shots on target throughout these fixtures and failed to have more than 25% of the ball in a single game. They were first beaten 3-0 by Greece before the Netherlands did the same to them, just as France beat them 3-0 last Friday.
It leaves them bottom of the table after three games and although Ireland are the favourties to win here, they slo head into this game with no points on the board after two games. It does, however, mean they have a game in hand on Gibraltar and France at the top.
However, with two defeats and just one goal scored from two games, Ireland are already six points adrift of the automatic qualification spot of second and are staring in the face of yet another failure to qualify for a major tournament.
Nathan Collins scored for his country in the last outing away to Greece but two goals soon after won it for the latter. Worse yet, Matt Doherty was sent off that day and now misses this game here.
