Ukraine vs North Macedonia Prediction, Tips & Stats

Ukraine and North Macedonia will meet in matchday seven of the Euro qualifiers where both sides are chasing down Italy and England in Group C where the two sides are sitting on seven points after five games.

Both these two and Italy are on seven points each, but the latter has a game extra to play after playing in the Nations League semi-finals instead. Nevertheless, with a handful of games left to play and with England five clear of these three sides, there is everything to play for and this is no doubt the biggest game of group campaign involving Ukraine and North Macedonia.

Ukraine head into this one having lost to Italy in their last outing of this group. The nation did draw 1-1 with England beforehand and also defeated Malta and North Macedonia. As for North Macedonia, they head into this game having beaten Malta 2-0 after a 1-1 draw with North Macedonia. They do also head into this game without a win over England, having lost 7-0 to them not long after suffering a home loss to Ukraine.

Darko Velkovski is without a squad these days and has subsequently not made the squad here. Captain Stefan Ristovski will be out of action in this game too and will pass the captain's armband to someone else. Gjok Zajkov is out injured in defence too, while Ilija Nestorovski has also not made the squad once more. Erdon Daci has been called up to the squad for the first time, but Aleksandar Trajkovski will lead the line here as the top scorer in the current North Macedonia squad. Bojan Miovski will be back in action for this one too, and he should play alongside Elif Elmas of Napoli and Burnley's Darko Churlinov. Former Leeds United man, Ezgjan Alioski, will feature here too.

            Ukraine team news

Ukraine are without captain Andriy Yarmolenko for these set of fixtures and the armband will go elsewhere. Eduard Sobol is also out of action in this game and won't make it to the next one either. Girona's Viktor Tsyhankov has been in excellent form this season and he won't be fit enough to play here. Yevhen Konoplyanka also misses out with his 87 caps and 21 goals. Empoli's Viktor Kovalenko has also not made the squad. Valencia's Roman Yaremchuk will be the main man in this game with Arten Dovbyk too, while Nazariy Rusyn of Sunderland has earned his first callup.
