Which Player Will be top Scorer in Each Group at Euro 2024?

The European Championships sees the best talent Europe has to offer, but can they all replicate their domestic scoring form on the biggest stage? Here are our picks for the top scorers in each group at the 2024 Euros.

Group A consists of hosts Germany, Scotland, Hungary and Switzerland.

Havertz had a shaky start to life at Arsenal, but has kicked into gear coming into the title race. In all competitions this season, Havertz has played in 49 games and has picked up 13 goals and six assists so far.

Another shout for Group A top scorer is Niclas Fullkrug. For Borussia Dortmund, Fullkrug has scored 15 goals and has registered 11 assists in 40 games, giving him a goal every 208 minutes and a goal conversion rate of 22%.

In the last five games for Germany, Havertz has scored two goals and Fullkrug has scored three goals, form they’ll be looking to replicate this summer.

An outlier shout for top scorer is also Greece’s Georgios Masouras. For Olympiacos, Masouras has scored nine goals in 48 appearances but his form with Greece is where he truly impressed. In qualifying, Masouras scored five goals, second to only Kylian Mbappe.

Group B consists of Spain, Croatia, Italy and Albania.

Though an Italian player would seem a better pick as the current holders of the European Championships. However, The Azzurri only just scraped a spot in the tournament, making a pick from Spain more likely.

Spain won their qualifying group with help from four goals from Morata. The striker has been in good form this season with Atletico Madrid. In 39 games, Morata has picked up 19 goals and three assists, giving him a goal every 130 minutes and a goal conversion rate of 26%.

Another pick for top scorer could be Joselu who also scored four goals in the qualifying campaign for Spain. Joselu has also impressed for Real Madrid this season, scoring 12 goals and registering two assists in 41 games.

Group C consists of Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia and England.

Based on this season and their record with their country, there’s only one choice for Group C, Kane. In the Bundesliga this season, Kane has picked up 44 goals and 11 assists in 43 games. This means Kane finds the back of the net for Bayern Munich every 87 minutes.

In the 2020 European Championships, Kane scored four goals on England’s route to the Final and is currently England’s all time top scorer with 62 goals in 89 games since 2015.

Bukayo Saka has also been amongst the goals this season for Arsenal, scoring 20 goals and picking up 14 assists in 46 games. However, another pick for top scorer in this group could be Rasmus Hojlund for Denmark. In their qualifying campaign, Hojlund was the top scorer of the group with seven goals and for Manchester United he has picked up 14 goals and two assists in 39 games.

Group D consists of Poland, the Netherlands, Austria and France.

Mbappe has dominated Ligue 1 this season, scoring 26 goals and registering seven assists in 28 games for PSG, giving him a goal every 80 minutes and a goal conversion rate of 30%.

In France’s qualifying group, Mbappe was the top scorer, picking up nine goals in eight games, four more above the next top scorer Masouras. Mbappe is also the third all time top scorer for France, with 46 goals in 77 appearances.

However, Robert Lewandowski can never be counted out when it comes to finding the back of the net. This season for Barcelona, Lewandowksi has 20 goals and nine assists in 40 games.

Group E consists of Belgium, Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine.

This season on loan with Roma, Lukaku has picked up 12 goals and three assists in 30 games in the Serie A. This is the eighth most in the league and just one goal behind Roma’s top scorer Paulo Dybala.

Lukaku has also picked up seven goals in 12 Europa League matches and one goal in two games in the Coppa Italia. For Belgium, Lukaku is the all time top scorer with 83 goals in 114 appearances since 2010. The prospect of top scorer also becomes a lot more likely with the inclusion of Kevin De Bruyne in the squad, the midfielder having 15 assists for Man City this season.

An outside pick for top scorer of this group could be Slovakia’s Lukáš Haraslín. For Sparta Prague, Haraslín has picked up 12 goals in the Czech First League and four goals in the Europa League. He was also Slovakia’s top scorer in the qualifying process, scoring three goals in ten games.

Group F consists of Turkey, Georgia, Portugal and the Czech Republic.

Ronaldo is the obvious pick for Group F, if he is in Roberto Martínez’s squad for this summer. So far this season in the Saudi Pro League, Ronaldo has picked up 32 goals and ten assists in 27 games. Also in the AFC Champions League, Ronaldo has found the back of the net on six occasions in nine games.

The striker is not only the most capped player at 206 appearances, Ronaldo is also the all time top scorer for Portugal with 128 goals since 2003. In Portugal's qualifying campaign, Ronaldo also impressed with ten goals in ten games.

Another pick for top scorer of this group is the Czech Republic’s Patrik Schick. In a title-winning season with Bayer Leverkusen, Schick picked up six goals in 18 games in the Bundesliga along with five goals in the Europa League and one in the DFB Pokal.

Schick has 18 goals in 44 appearances for the Czech Republic but along with Ronaldo he was the top scorer at the 2020 European Championships with five goals.
