3 Players Manchester United Could Sign

Manchester United sit 7th in Premier League after 10 games and are already 15 points off table topping Liverpool. We look at 3 players they could sign to help them challenge at the top again.

1. Timo Werner

It’s no secret that United desperately need a striker following the sales of Romelu Lukau and Alexis Sanchez in the summer, both of whom were not replaced and whilst Martial and Rashford provide options, they seem to be more suited playing out wide rather than through the centre.

Werner has attracted interest from several clubs, including Liverpool and it's not difficult to see why, with the 23 year old having netted nine times already this season in all competitions and United would face tough competition for his signature.

The German has signed new a contract recently however it is reported this includes a release clause, rumoured to be as little as £30 million but the hard part no doubt would be convincing Werner to move to Old Trafford.

2. Christian Eriksen

Perhaps a more achievable signing would be the Spurs midfielder, who is out of contract at the end of the season and may be available for a cut price deal in January.

The Dane hasn’t committed his future to Spurs and it’s suggested that he is wanting to move on. He played out of position as a left midfielder in Spurs’ 2-1 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday, with the Sky Sports pundits picking out his discontent of the role.

Eriksen has been at Spurs for six years and has established himself as one the leading playmakers in the Premier League but may be ready for a change. United, again, may face some competition but they may be able to persuade him to stay in England.

3. James Maddison

United persuaded Harry Maguire away from Leicester this summer and they may be able to do the same with Maddison, who has impressed this season for the Foxes.

Whilst Leicester sit third in the table at the moment, Maddison may be tempted by the lure of United, who would no doubt offer him a better contract than the one he is on at Leicester.
