17th placed Blackburn Rovers take on 20th in the table Derby County in what is a crucial clash at Ewood Park as both teams look to consolidate their position in the league for next season.
Following Rotherham’s 3-1 win over QPR in midweek, Rovers are now eight points above the relegation zone, whilst Derby are four points above having both played three more matches than the Millers.
The last time Blackburn won was in a 2-0 win against Millwall on sixth March, however, they will be hoping that the rejuvenated Adam Armstrong will inspire them against the Rams on Friday night. The former Newcastle United striker scored a brace last time out against Cardiff City in Rovers’ 2-2 draw in Wales last weekend, taking his tally up to 22 league goals for the season.
Derby are in no better form than Rovers, having won just one game since late February, which was in a 2-0 home win against Luton earlier this month, so, Rovers will be looking to capitalise on Wayne Rooney’s sides fragilities.
