Manchester United take on Granada in the Europa League on Thursday night at Old Trafford and come into this match with a commanding lead over the La Liga outfit having won 2-0 at Nuevo Estadio de Los Cármenes thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes.
United’s goal never really came under threat with David De Gea only having to save shots from long range, as Granada managed just three shots on target, meaning that they will have to do what they haven’t done so far in the Europa League knockout stages and win away from home if they are to advance.
Despite United having what will likely be an unassailable lead, it is unlikely that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will rotate his side, as we saw when the Red Devils beat Real Sociedad in the round of 32. Having not started at the weekend in United’s 3-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Mason Greenwood is expected to come into the starting line-up as United look to see out the tie in a professional manner.
Greenwood is one of the most in-form players in England at the moment, having assisted United’s second goal away at Spurs, as well as scoring their third. Prior to this the 19-year-old forward had scored the winning goal in the Red 2-1 win against Brighton on the previous weekend, as well as scoring the equaliser in their 3-1 FA Cup defeat to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
