New England vs DC United: Over 2.5 Goals - 7/10

The first game on this list comes from the MLS which made a return last weekend as the 2021 season began.

New England face DC United in what is a clash of sixth place against second in the table, with the away side looking to build on their impressive start as they look to make a playoff charge having failed miserably in doing so last year.

The hosts come into this game having drawn 2-2 with Chicago Fire at Soldier Field last time out in what was a crazy start to the game, as Fire went 2-0 thanks to goals from Robert Beric and Luka Stojanovic inside the first 11 minutes, before 14th and 27th-minute strikes from Adam Buksa and Gustavo Bou levelled up the scoring.

DC managed to record a good home victory against New York City FC on the opening game, as having fallen behind to an early Valentin Castellanos goal, United’s fans might’ve feared the worst for the upcoming season, however, both Brendan Hines-Ike and Russell Canouse

This fixture has a history of a lot of goals being scored in it, as in the last five meetings there has been 18 goals, including a 4-3 thriller at the back end of last season which saw goals from Buksa, a Teal Bunbury brace and a Canouse own goal see New England edge out the victory against DC at the Gillette Stadium.

Minnesota United vs Real Salt Lake: Over 2.5 Goals – 8/13

Minnesota United take on Real Salt Lake at Allianz Field in the Western Conference of the MLS, with this fixture being the away side’s first match of the new season.

The hosts will be looking to drastically improve on their poor showing last weekend, as they were hammered 4-0 away at Seattle Sounders, as second-half goals from Joao Paulo Mior, Raul Ruidiaz (2) and Fredy Montero rounded off what was a humbling experience for Adrian Heath’s side.

Ironically it was the Sounders who had knocked Minnesota out of the playoffs in the conference final 3-2, so United will have to improve if they are to stand a chance of even making the playoffs this time around.

Real Salt Lake had a poor campaign last time around, as they failed to make the playoffs, following 22 points from 22 matches, finishing 11th, eight points behind eight placed San Jose Earthquakes.

In early September last year, one of the more notable clashes between these two sides took place, as Minnesota thrashed Real 4-0 at Allianz Field, with Chase Gasper, Robin Lod (2) and Jacori Hayes all getting on the scoresheet.

LA Galaxy vs New York Red Bulls: Over 2.5 Goals – 6/10

LA Galaxy take on New York Red Bulls on Sunday, with both teams looking to improve o last year’s showings.

The Galaxy didn’t even make it to the playoffs last time out, finishing eight points shy of San Jose in the Western Conference having scored just 22 points from 22 matches. However, they have started to make amends already, with a 3-2 win over Inter Miami last weekend, where a Chicharito brace and a late Sacha Kljestan strike saw Greg Vanney win his first match as Galaxy coach.

New York Red Bulls were knocked out in the first round of the playoffs to eventual winners Columbus Crew last season and are seemingly still suffering from the hangover from it, as they slipped to a 2-1 loss at home to Sporting Kansas City, as Caden Clark’s 48th-minute opener was cancelled out by 59th and 60th-minute goals from Gadi Kinda and Daniel Salloi.

These two sides haven’t met since May 2019 where Red Bulls won 3-2, this fixture is one that has tended to provide plenty of goals down the years, as 18 goals have been scored in the last five meetings between the two.
