The Tigers were enduring a fairly solid season in the Championship before the turn of the calendar year.
Grant McCann's side were staying within the confines of safe mid-table before their current run of form where they have gone 12 straight matches without winning, drawing only two of those. This poor form has sucked them into danger and they haven't been able to get out of this rut since.
One thing that might have upset the apple cart at the KCOM Stadium was the sale of star player, Jarrod Bowen to West Ham on transfer deadline day. Prior to his departure, he managed to rack up 16 goals from 29 Championship appearances this season and so heads have turned towards Tom Eaves and veteran, Kamil Grosicki for the goals.
Sitting in 21st, one place above the relegation zone, the odds give them a chance of EVENS to stay up whilst the teams above them have considerably slimmer odds. Currently, the odds to go down are 8/11 and these odds were slashed dramatically after their 1-0 loss to Charlton last week.
It is difficult to see where the next win is going to come from for the East Yorkshire side. The squad need an injection of belief that they are capable of fighting the battle ahead and it is surprising to still see McCann in the managerial role.
