Latest News

We’ve started to look at the options that Gareth Southgate has available for his Euro 2020 England Squad and what odds the bookies are placing on each player to be part of the 23-man squad. After looking at the defense, we’re moving onto the midfield and looking at the options that Gareth Southgate has in the middle of the park. We’ve provided bet slip links that will take you to the relevant slip for each player should you wish to back them. Please note the odds are correct as of 16/01/20.

Jordan Henderson - 1/50

The bookies’ favourite as it stands is the 2019 England Men’s Player of the Year Jordan Henderson. The Liverpool midfield has had a fantastic year, winning the: Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup and being well on his way to a first Premier League title with Liverpool.

Jordan Henderson - 1/50

Dele Alli - 1/8

It’s also highly expected that Tottenham’s Dele Alli will be joining Henderson in England’s 23-man squad. Since the arrival of Jose Mourinho at Tottenham, Dele Alli looks revitalised, scoring 4 goals and registering 2 assists in 9 Premier League games for Tottenham. Considering that Alli was a regular player for England during the 2018 World Cup, playing in 5 of England’s 7 games, Alli could be set to be a key player during the Euros.

Dele Alli - 1/8

James Maddison - 1/8

Thanks to his fantastic form for Leicester over the past couple of seasons, James Maddison has made a name for himself as one of the best attacking midfielders is the Premier League, earning him his first England appearance in a Euro 2020 qualifier with Montenegro. In his opening 25 games for Leicester this season, Maddison has scored 9 goals and registered 3 assists, Maddison has also created the 5th most chances of any Premier League player so far. Despite only making 1 appearance for England, Maddison’s form for Leicester this season can’t be ignored and you’d highly expect him to be part of the England squad for the Euros.

James Maddison - 1/8

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - 1/6

Returning to Liverpool, we’ve got Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who has hit another level since joining Liverpool from Arsenal in 2017. Over the past couple of seasons, Oxlade- Chamberlain has suffered recurring injuries, including during the 2018 World Cup meaning he missed the tournament. Having played in England’s last 2 Euro 2020 qualifiers, Oxlade-Chamberlain looks to be part of Southgate’s plans, and if he can stay fit for the remainder of the season, you’d imagine that he’d be part of the 23-man squad for the Euros.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - 1/6

Declan Rice - 1/6

The players we’ve mentioned so far are either central or attacking midfielders, so one player who looks set to play more of a defensive role for England is West Ham’s Declan Rice. In his opening 21 Premier League games this season, Rice has: made more interceptions than Fernandinho and has a better pass completion rate than Jordan Henderson. After swapping allegiance from the Republic of Ireland in February of last year, Rice has made 7 appearances for England and played in 7 of their 8 Euro 2020 qualifiers, so you’d imagine that Rice will be part of Southgate's plans for the finals this year and will be in the squad.

Declan Rice - 1/6

Mason Mount - 4/7

As a result of Chelsea’s transfer ban at the start of the season, many young Chelsea players have thrived thanks to the gametime they have received, with one of those players being Mason Mount. In his opening 22 Premier League games this season, Mount has scored 5 goals and registered 3 assists from attacking midfield, this form earned him his England debut in the 4-0 win over Bulgaria at Wembley, with Mount also playing in England’s remaining 5 Euro 2020 qualifiers.

Mason Mount - 4/7

Below are some of the remaining England midfielders and their odds of making the 23-man squad.
