Euro 2020 Odds & Predictions: Total Goals in Extra Time

Euro 2020 is approaching the knockout rounds of the competition which means one thing amongst many: extra time.

We know the drill and we know the likelihood of it happening and considering there have also been six draws across the competition already, we could be in for a situation where teams are prepared and ready for the knockout rounds to go the distance and perhaps even further.

Here, we take a look at all the Euro 2020 extra time odds and our Euro 2020 extra time predictions.

One of the markets Sky Bet are offering is the over/under number of extra time goals in this year’s competition. This lets you bet on whether there will be over or under 3.5 goals scored in extra time across the whole tournament, from the first knockout stage to the final. Sky Bet have an 8/11 price on there to be under 3.5 goals in extra time across Euro 2020, meaning if there are less than four extra time goals in the competition, the bet wins.

There have been less than 3.5 extra time goals in both of the last two major international competitions, with there being a total of three ET goals in the 2018 World Cup after just two in Euro 2016. Alternatively, odds are 1/1 for there to be over 3.5 goals.

If you want to go a step further, you can also bet on the different ranges of goals. There is a number of different options to choose from starting with a 3/1 price on there being 0-1 goals in extra time. With just three extra time goals in the 2018 World Cup and only two in Euro 2016, you might be tempted to go for the 2-3 goals band.

Odds for there being two or three goals in extra time again throughout this competition are 15/8. There is also the option to bet on there being 4-5 extra time goals with 11/4 odds, or there to be an extra time goal-fest, with six or more goals being priced at 10/3.

Sky Bet also have the option to bet on the exact number of goals to be scored in extra time across the knockout rounds, from 0 goals at 8/1 to exactly 14 goals at 250/1. Despite the last two major tournaments both having less than three goals scored in the very late stages, it isn’t out of the question to suggest there won’t be a lot of goals scored in extra time.

There was a whopping seven goals in the round of 16 alone in the 2014 World Cup, with the eighth goal to be scored in extra time of that tournament being the crucial winning goal from Mario Gotze in the final itself. There are high odds for there to be around that mark again this year, with eight extra time goals being priced at 18/1.
