ITV will cover five races from the second day of the St Leger Festival on Friday 11th September, with the card headlined by the oldest race on the Doncaster schedule, the Group Two Doncaster Cup.

We have gone through all televised races on ITV on Day Two of the St Leger Festival, picking out ITV horse racing tips, and an accumulator for ITV racing.

The Listed Flying Scotsman Stakes kicks off the ITV coverage of Day Two of the St Leger Festival from Doncaster. Forbidden Fire could be an interesting alternative against the two Charlie Appleby runners at the top of the betting.

The two-year-old filly by No Nay Never was a striking winner on career debut, easing five lengths clear of the field to win at Salisbury.

Oisin Murphy retains the ride on the juvenile this week, and she will get a healthy swing at the weights with very little to find on RPRs with the market leaders.

Next up is the Betfred Leger Legends Classified Stakes, run over a straight mile. Berry Clever could be an interesting contender, with Jamie Hamblett booked to take the ride.

The five-year-old has only won once in 16 attempts on the turf, but he has been running with credit throughout this season, finishing a close fourth on each of his previous four attempts.

Expected to go well, and is likely to record a second win on the turf over his preferred mile distance.

The Group Two Flying Childers Stakes is due off at 14:25 on Friday, with a talented field of juveniles competing over five furlongs.

The lightly raced Flann Sunna could provide the most upside this week against a field of more exposed contenders. Simon & Ed Crisford’s runner won on back-to-back starts over six furlongs at Windsor and Ascot at the start of the summer, before fading in the closing stages of the Group Two Richmond Stakes when fifth.

That looks like strong form in the context of this race, and the drop down to five furlongs should suit the colt by Blue Point.

The feature on Friday is the Group Two Doncaster Cup. Caballo De Mar should be incredibly hard to beat for the George Scott yard.

The five-year-old has won three from eight starts in stakes company, and holds a notable advantage over the re-opposing Queenstown after finishing three lengths ahead of the Aidan O’Brien runner in the Group One Prix Vicomtesse Vigier in May.

With no clear superstar in this field on Friday, the five-year-old is expected to take full advantage after running excellent races throughout this season, including when second in the Group Three Sagaro Stakes.

Comes out on top on official ratings, and should be primed for his big target of the season.

ITV’s coverage of the second day of the St Leger Festival concludes with an EBF Premier Fillies’ Handicap over a mile and four furlongs.

Nochebuena could be hard to oppose, especially given the historical dominance enjoyed by three-year-olds in this race. The Ralph Beckett runner is a previous course and distance winner, having held off Kenneth to open his account on her first attempt over the mile and four at Doncaster in June.

Continued that level of form when last seen, beaten a short head by Hoseki at Ascot on ground that may have been too quick.

Beckett typically excels with fillies in middle distance handicaps, and she should be capable of landing the spoils after being well-rested since her last run.
