The first Merseyside Derby of the season takes place on Saturday, as Liverpool make the journey across Stanley Park to take on Everton.
After a poor campaign last year, the Toffees have failed to turn a corner and are still looking below-par so far this season. Frank Lampard’s men are just one place above the bottom three early on, without a win in their first five league games. Everton have drawn their last three league games after losing their opening two.
Liverpool also got off to a bad start in the Premier League, drawing two and losing to Manchester United, before turning it around in recent weeks. After putting nine past Bournemouth, Jurgen Klopp’s men pulled off a sensational turnaround and snatched all three points in the 2-1 win over a decent Newcastle side in midweek.
Klopp’s side have a few injuries but still have plenty of big hitters, such as the returning Darwin Nunez, at their disposal. The Reds will be favourites to heap more derby day misery on their Merseyside rivals, even with a goal handicap.
