Are Everton set to return to the top six?

Everton's life in the Premier League has been exceptionally topsy-turvy over the past decade. There's been Europa League qualification, cup semi-finals, early relegation fights, one win in 23 over Liverpool, nine managerial changes, and now a team with more Champions League medals than United, City, Chelsea and Arsenal combined.

Now, seeing Carlo Ancelotti on the sidelines and James Rodriguez on the pitch is still something not many could’ve predicted less than a year ago. Yet, here we are, and if Everton’s opening two games are anything to go by, the Toffees fans can have a lot to look forward to this season.

Rodriguez became the first Premier League debutant to create at least five chances since Alexis Sanchez back in 2014, and after eight goals in two games from Ancelotti's men, there is real hope of a trophy charge this campaign.

As well as this, holding midfielder, Allan, who arrived from Napoli made four tackles, two interceptions, and won an impressive eight duels on the ground, which earned him the Man of the Match award. Alongside fellow new signing Abdoulaye Doucoure in the centre of midfield, they certainly look a new team in the middle of the pitch.

Although it's still too early in the season to make a concrete prediction, Everton to finish in the top six is priced at 9/4 and Everton top four odds are also sitting at 7/1 - click the links to claim these bets in your bet slip.

Can Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison fight for the Golden Boot?

Carlo Ancelotti has spoken of his admiration for Everton’s target man Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the past, even going as far as saying he tried to sign him during his time at Napoli. Since the Italian arrived on Merseyside last season, Calvert-Lewin’s performances have been resurgent and the Englishman recorded his best goalscoring run in December with six goals in eight games.

Everton's striker finished the season with 13 goals, which is impressive considering he had just five goals in 16 appearances before the managerial change. Now, with four goals in two games including a hat-trick against West Bromwich Albion, this looks like being the season Calvert-Lewin makes a serious claim for the top scorer award.

The 23-year-old's development under Ancelotti has seen him become one of the most potent strikers in the Premier League, and his exceptional header against Tottenham Hotspur on the opening day, highlights his array of skills in front of goal. As an outside contender for the Golden Boot at 16/1, it's certainly worth taking a look at Calvert-Lewin's exceptional rise under Ancelotti.

Elsewhere on the forward line, Everton fans will once again be expecting another brilliant season from Richarlison in his third campaign at Goodison Park. The Brazilian usually operates in a wide position to make room for Calvert-Lewin, but do not overlook Richarlison incredible goalscoring prowess, especially in the air.

The ex-Watford man also managed 13 goals in the league last season, a year after registering the same amount in his debut season on Merseyside. Now, Richarlison top scorer odds now sit at 66/1 and this could be the year he reaches the 20-goal margin, especially with the excellence of Rodriguez behind him.

Everton RequestABets to look out for

With Ancelotti now firmly cementing his style on the team and the board investing heavily in a completely new midfield, this is likely to bring about a lot of positive change around Goodison Park for the foreseeable future.

Kicking off the RequestABets with one a higher price 9/1, we like the look of Richarlison to score 15+ goals and James Rodriguez to score 10+ goals. As mentioned, Richarlison managed to register an impressive 13 goals from a wide position last season, and with creative outlets such as Rodriguez and Lucas Digne providing support, we could see the mercurial Brazilian reach his highest goalscoring tally yet.

As for Rodriguez, the Colombian has looked exceptional already in Everton colours, creating five key chances on his debut against Spurs, and scoring from outside the box and assisting against West Brom a week later.

Also, there is the RequestABet of Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score 20+ goals at 18/1. And now, with the creative forces of Digne, Richarlison and Rodriguez, as well as defensive stability behind them, Calvert-Lewin looks set for a stellar season.
