Fantasy Football: Three Transfers to make for Gameweek 25

The Premier League returned in midweek after the FA Cup break and, as ever, there were plenty of surprising results across the board. All aspects of the league were affected, with Manchester City starting with a shock defeat to Newcastle, before Liverpool missed an opportunity to go seven points clear at the top of the table by drawing to Leicester. With Pep Guardiola’s team having a double gameweek, we’ve gone City-heavy with our transfer selections this week.

Ederson Moraes

Team: Manchester City

Value: £5.6m

Next Opponent: Arsenal (H), Everton (A)

It may seem a strange selection given that he conceded two away to Newcastle in midweek, but prior to Tuesday night’s upset Manchester City had kept eight consecutive clean sheets in all competitions. The Brazilian is a key cog in the defensive machine at the Etihad Stadium, offering plenty with his feet when playing out from the back as well as being a commanding shot-stopper. Ederson even has an assist to his name this season and is quick to get the side on counter-attacks.

Bernardo Silva

Team: Manchester City

Value: £7.6m

Next Opponent: Arsenal (H), Everton (A)

Having started on the bench on Tuesday night, you would expect Bernardo Silva to be back in the side come the weekend and to retain his place against Everton next week. The midfielder has been one of City’s outstanding players this season, with perhaps the greatest compliment you could pay him being that they have hardly noticed Kevin De Bruyne’s absence. Silva has been a creative hub for his team in the Premier League, scoring five goals as well as providing six assists for his side.

Gabriel Jesus

Team: Manchester City

Value: £10.1m

Next Opponent: Arsenal (H), Everton (A)

In his own words, Gabriel Jesus is “on fire” at this moment in time, having become the leading forward for the side in recent weeks. The 21-year-old has eight goals in his last four starts for City and is currently in his best goalscoring form of the campaign so far and will be hoping to return to the starting XI after starting on the bench at Newcastle. Jesus also has three goals in three appearances against Everton, including a brace against them earlier this season.
