Fantasy Football Tips: 3 in, 3 Out for Gameweek 7

Latest News

In: Aaron Ramsdale

Whisper it, but Arsenal may have finally turned a corner and after months of ‘trusting the process’, Mikel Arteta’s men are starting to look like the real deal.

A winnable run of fixtures awaits the Gunners throughout October, starting with an early autumn trip to the seaside to face Brighton & Hove Albion.

Granted, Brighton have been a tricky opponent for Arsenal in previous years, but with Ramsdale proving the critics wrong with his performances between the sticks, it might be time to back the young English shot-stopper.

In: Connor Gallagher

In his fourth loan spell as a Chelsea player, Connor Gallagher has taken no time at all to impress the Selhurst Park faithful, dropping an almost perfect performance in the recent M23 derby.

Only a late Neal Maupay equaliser denied Crystal Palace a famous victory against Brighton, with the England U21 international a standout man for Patrick Vieira’s side.

With two goals and one assist so far this season, including points scored for two penalties won, the 21-year-old is quickly turning into the next fantasy football must-have.

In: Marcos Alonso

Reeling from their first defeats of the season against Manchester City and Juventus, Chelsea have gone from title shoe-ins to relegation contenders almost overnight, but don’t fear Blues’ fans with a healthy-looking fixture list Thomas Tuchel’s men will no doubt be back in the mix soon.

Chelsea face only one team currently in the top half of the table until GW13 and that being Premier League newbies Brentford, meaning now is the moment to bank on the European champions.

Marcos Alonso is a key part of Tuchel’s set-up and with attacking returns on the board already this season, the Chelsea wing-back is set to go big in fantasy football.

Out: Yves Bissouma

One of the perennial names seemed to be linked with a big-money move to a top-six club, Yves Bissouma has been an integral part of Brighton’s success this year, but the dynamic midfielder looks set to spend some time in the treatment room.

Bissouma has already notched up one assist for the surprise Premier League high-flyers, yet after missing the Seagulls recent draw with Palace, it emerged the Malian midfielder had injured his knee during their victory over Leicester City.

Just one name on Graham Potter’s growing list of injury concerns, how Brighton cope without Bissouma remains to be seen, but many managers across the game will have to do without.

Out: Harry Maguire

Harry Maguire is facing some time on the sidelines, and initially, it seemed the same was the case for Luke Shaw, but the left-back has been involved in the recent England squad and Maguire has not. This ultimately tells us he might be on the mend a little longer than first anticipated.

United do have Everton this weekend and given their decent start, taking out any defender under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's management right now is worth taking out as they simply fail to keep clean sheets this season.

However, Maguire is out injured and can't keep clean sheets, so get him gone and consider someone like Victor Lindelof for a cheaper price if you're desiring sticking with the United trend.

Out: Riyad Mahrez

One of the few City players not involved in either the Copa America or European Championships, big things were predicted for Riyad Mahrez in the first couple of weeks of the season, yet the winger has failed to set the world alight.

Scoring and assisting in the first two-game weeks, Mahrez hasn’t registered an attacking return since late August and has since fallen behind in the City pecking order.

Mainly used in the two cup competitions this year, Mahrez is not the banker people may have expected him to be and as many have found out before, it is better to avoid the dreaded Pep-roulette, than get involved with it.
