Help save Worksop Town FC

Latest News

Ourselves at Footy Accumulators are supporting Worksop Town and their campaign to raise the £30,000 before the end of the month to save their club. Allow us to provide you with some background and why you should consider donating to the cause…

You can donate on the official Just Giving page.

So far the cause has been supported by many in the football community with Jeff Stelling, Peter Crouch and Alan McInally announcing their support and making donations. Fellow non-league clubs Matlock Town and Maltby Main have also reached out to get behind the cause.

Based in Nottinghamshire, The Tigers currently play their football in the Northern Premier League and are the fourth oldest association football club in the world, formed 158 years ago in 1861.

Their biggest match came back in 1908 as they faced Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup in front of over 18,000 spectators and they were founding members of the Conference North in 2004. They’ve also had a famous name in their ranks in the form of former England international Chris Waddle who pulled on the Worksop shirt in 1999.

The £30,000 that Worksop Town need to raise will pay off the debts the club currently has and enable the club to operate without constant dread and fear hanging over their heads.

Some of you might remember way back in 2013 Kettering Town were suffering from financial difficulties of their own and our community pulled together and played a huge part in saving the club. To this day we keep a keen eye on their results and are massively proud of the efforts our followers and friends went to in order to save a club they have no personal ties to, purely out of love for football.

Whether it be a small chunk from a winning bet or a spare couple of quid you can part with, you can donate to the cause and prevent one of the most historic clubs in football, from ceasing to exist by visiting the official Just Giving page. We can do it!

In an attempt to raise even more cash for Worksop Town, if our ‘goal in both halves’ fivefold comes in tonight, we will donate all of the winnings to the club!
