On Tuesday night, Benfica and Liverpool go head to head in the quarter-finals of this season’s Champions League, with the Anfield club coming into this encounter as firm favourites.

Benfica’s last match resulted in a 3-2 defeat to Sporting Braga in Liga Nos, whilst Liverpool have scored two goals in three of their last four matches, making it easy to see why they are backed to go one better and manage a 3-0 victory, having kept clean sheets in all of their last four outings.

Manchester City and Atletico Madrid go head to head on Tuesday in what is expected to be a fascinating encounter at the Etihad Stadium.

City thumped Sporting Lisbon 5-0 in the last round of this competition, whilst Atletico managed to scrape through the Round of 16 2-1 on aggregate against the Cityzens city rivals, Manchester United.

Pep Guardiola’s men are expected to come out on top in this one and it will be a major shock for them to not have a shot on target in each half against Atletico, especially when you consider their ball retention, whilst Atletico managed three shots on target when they played United at Old Trafford last time out in this competition.

City will hope to come out of the blocks flying against Atletico in the hope of taking the lead in the tie, which is crucial against Diego Simeone’s men, as United found out when the Spaniard shut them out at their own stadium in an ultra-defensive manner.

The Cityzens are well known for working the ball well out wide, with the likes of Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling often being supported by the likes of Joao Cancelo and Kyle Walker down the flanks, potentially meaning that there could be plenty of corners if they apply pressure from the first whistle.

When City hammered local rivals United 4-1 at the Etihad, they had nine corners which is a high tally when considering the Red Devils' fairly decent effort at taking the game to the Sky Blues throughout the first half before fading in the latter stages of the match.

Atletico are known for their cynical play style, as they do like to break up attacks via fouls and even waste time to an excessive nature in order to increase their chances of getting a positive result. This is expected to be in full flow at the Etihad Stadium when they face a side that on paper are significantly better than themselves, hence why there is a possibility of 50+ booking points.
