Next Middlesbrough Manager Odds

Middlesbrough are on the lookout for a new manager following the sacking of Chris Wilder after their loss to Coventry City on Saturday.

At present, Boro are 22nd in the Championship whilst Wilder’s record at Boro stood at 18 wins and 11 draws from 45 matches, leaving him with a win percentage of 40% prior to his sacking.

Rob Edwards Odds: 1/4

Former Watford manager Rob Edwards is the favourite for the job at the Riverside Stadium.

The 39-year-old lost his job at Watford following three wins and five draws in 11 matches, but, due to the Hornets' reputation of harshly sacking managers, his reputation won’t be damaged, especially considering the work he did at Forest Green.

Edwards’ managed to earn promotion to League One with Forest Green in his one and only season as manager of the club, winning 24 and drawing 19 of his 53 matches in charge as they won the League Two title for the first-ever time.

Middlesbrough are priced at 1/4 to appoint Edwards as their next manager - click on the link to claim this bet in your bet slip!

Steve Cooper Odds: 6/1

Under pressure Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper has also been linked with the vacancy at the Riverside.

At present, Forest are bottom of the Premier League with just four points from eight games following their promotion via the play-offs last season. When Cooper took over the reins at the City Ground in late September last year, they were bottom of the table.

During his time at Swansea City prior to Nottingham Forest, Cooper had an impressive record, as he managed to get the Swans qualified for the play-offs in both of his seasons in charge on a stringent budget.

Cooper is priced at 6/1 to become Boro’s next managerial appointment.

Carlos Corberan Odds: 7/1

Carlos Corberan is a name that will naturally be linked to many Championship clubs following his impressive campaign with Huddersfield last season.

The 39-year-old left the Terriers in July following reported disagreements over transfers, having lead them to the play-off final in the 2021/22 season. At Huddersfield, the Spaniard managed 102 games, winning 38 games and drawing 28 times.

However, since then, Corberan has been sacked as manager of Olympiacos following just two wins in 11 matches despite a multitude of high-profile signings such as Marcelo and James Rodriguez.

Corberban’s work at Huddersfield will likely be enough to see him get another job in football in the near future.

The Spaniard is priced at 7/1 to succeed Wilder as manager of Middlesbrough.

Gary O’Neil Odds: 12/1

Bournemouth’s current Interim Manager Gary O’Neil is also on this list of managers linked to the vacancy at Middlesbrough.

The 39-year-old played for Boro between 2007 and 2011, making 109 league appearances and has impressed during his interim spell at the Vitality Stadium, winning one and drawing three of his four matches in charge - despite the Cherries being the favourites to be relegated at the start of the season.

O’Neil is priced at 12/1 for a surprise return to Boro.
