England v Croatia: Kane to score and win

With plenty of optimism in the air, England kick off their Euro 2020 campaign when they welcome Croatia to Wembley on Sunday 13th. Gareth Southgate and his men are expected to put on a good showing for the fans this tournament, with a squad littered with promising, star-quality talent.

One of the biggest stars for England is their captain, Harry Kane. who comes of the back of arguably his best-ever season. After a stellar campaign in which Kane scooped the Premier League Golden Boot award as well as the Playmaker award for his club, he can hit the ground running on Sunday with a goal to help his country against Croatia.

Croatia stopped England’s progression in the 2018 World Cup at the Semi-final stage, but Zlatko Dalic’s side have regressed since then. Plenty of their big hitters such as Luka Modric and Ivan Perisic, whilst Mario Mandzukic - the man who scored the winner in 2018 - has retired from international duty. Since that meeting in Russia, the two sides have met twice in the Nations League, drawing in October 2018 before England prevailed 2-1 a month later.

We're backing a youthful and fresh England side to get revenge on Croatia, and at 17/10, we're backing Kane to get a goal in doing so.

Denmark v Final: Denmark to win & BTTS

Saturday’s second fixture of the day sees Denmark and Finland meet in Copenhagen for their group B fixture. Both teams have some underrated talent in their ranks, which could make for an interesting game with both sides getting on the scoresheet.

The Danes are the favourites to get the three points though, with a team that features some talented players such as Christian Eriksen, Martin Braithwaite and Kasper Schmeichel. Denmark have picked up some good results heading into the tournament, as they held Germany in a 1-1 friendly in June and smashed Austria 4-0 in a World Cup Qualifier at the end of March, and even beat joint-favourites England in their Nations League clash back in October.

Finland do have some good players that could pose a threat, such as Norwich City’s Teemu Pukki and Brentford’s Marcus Forss, but Denmark should edge this tie and odds are 10/3 for Denmark to win with both teams getting on the scoresheet.

Austria v North Macedonia: Austria to win and over 2.5 goals

The first game in Group C kicks off on Sunday, with Austria and North Macedonia locking horns in Bucharest. Austria are the favourites in this one, with key, experienced players like David Alaba, Marcel Sabitzer and Konrad Laimer the standout names.

North Macedonia aren’t to be taken as a walk in the park though, just ask Germany, as Igor Angelovski’s side shocked Joachim Low’s men with a 2-1 win against the 2014 World Cup champions back in March.

At the same time, veteran Serie A striker, Goran Pandev, remains their main threat upfront at the ripe age of 37. Austria have a stronger side you would think has the beating of their opponents, but North Macedonia could still put up a fight.

Odds are 7/4 for Austria to win and over 2.5 goals in the game, just like it finished when Austria won 2-1 when the teams last met in the Nations League in November 2019.

Netherlands v Ukraine: Netherlands to win 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1

Frank de Boer leads his Netherlands side into Euro 2020 with an opening fixture against Ukraine at the Amsterdam ArenA, the second Sunday Group C fixture. The Dutch could be seen as an underdog in the competition, with top players like Gini Wijnaldum, Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay giving Netherlands supporters hope of a first major tournament trophy since their only one at Euro 1988.

On their day, Ukraine can be a team that cause an upset and tough to play. Andriy Shevchenko’s men have claimed a few scalps in recent months by beating Spain 1-0 in the Nations League last October and keeping world champions, France, at bay in a 1-1 draw in their World Cup Qualifier in March.

With Oranje skipper and commanding centre-back Virgil van Dijk out of the Euros through injury, there could be a way through for Ukraine to exploit. We think they'll get the job done here, however, and considering the lack of goalscorers, we're tipping a 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 scoreline for the Dutch.

Belgium v Russia: Lukaku to score a brace

Belgium are another side that have high ambitions, with Roberto Martinez hoping his world class players like Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard and Dries Mertens will be able to land the Red Devils their first major honour in the shape of Euro 2020.

Belgium are top of the FIFA World Rankings and will be after European glory after falling short in the 2018 World Cup in which they finished third and many of the eyes will be on Romelu Lukaku to see if he can snatch the Golden Boot.

The former Chelsea and Manchester United striker has had another incredible campaign for Inter Milan this season, spearheading their first Serie A win in over a decade with 24 goals and 10 assists in 34 league appearances in the league.

The forward will lead the line and with the likes of De Bruyne behind him, he really is one of the favourites for the Golden Boot - we're tipping him to bag a brace at 9/1.
