Alex Telles Next Club Odds

Porto’s Alex Telles looks to be on the move this summer as rumours surrounding his exit have intensified with offers reportedly coming in from all around Europe.

The 27-year-old Brazilian, who was capped by his country last year, has spent over four years in Portugal, having moved from Galatasaray in 2016. Highly-rated in his native Brazil, Telles possesses strong offensive qualities and has been directly involved in 50 league goals since the start of the 2017/18 season, registering 20 goals and 30 assists.

We take a closer look at some of the possible destinations, and where his style of play could be used to its potential.

Both Manchester clubs, as well as Wolverhampton Wanderers, have been rumoured to be in the market for Alex Telles, and he would certainly be a welcomed addition to all interested parties.

With Manchester City and Wolves both currently 25/1 to sign the left-back, it seems a more likely destination is elsewhere. However, Pep Guardiola may be in the market for a backup to Benjamin Mendy, who’s City career has stalled in the past through long-term injuries. As for Wolves, the likelihood of them signing another Brazilian left-back seems minimal after Fernando Marcal’s arrival from Lyon.

That brings us to Old Trafford, where the only summer business that has been conducted was the arrival of Donny van de Beek from Ajax. Although an exciting addition to the squad, United fans will be hoping the club manage to secure at least one more signature before the window closes in October and Telles to United odds are currently priced at a low 1/8.

Developments over the past few days indicate Telles could be the next arrival at Old Trafford to give Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams some much-needed competition. Transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano, has stated the two clubs are talking about a possible move for the left-back, with personal terms not an issue, but more so the figure United are willing to pay.

Furthermore, The Guardian have reported a deal is close to being agreed and the odds of 1/8 now look like a worthy price.

As well as a move to England strongly rumoured, Telles has been the subject of interest for many clubs over the years.

Most notably, a club he has featured for in the past, Inter Milan, are said to be interested in bringing him back to Italy. Having spent the season on loan at the San Siro during the 2015/16 campaign, playing a total of 21 times during that period, it could be a welcomed return back to Inter for Telles.

With manager Antonio Conte adopting high-pressing full-backs, he would certainly match their aggressive style of play. However, with the recent addition of former Manchester City left-back Aleksander Kolarov, the odds for a possible reunion now stand at 22/1.

Paris Saint-Germain, on the other hand, currently stand at 6/1 to odds to land Telles’ signature in a move that would seemingly suit his attacking skillset. However, with Juan Bernat holding down a starting spot, and Layvin Kurzawa surprising everyone by penning a new deal, it seems that United may well be his next destination.
