Ben Brereton Diaz Transfer News & Odds

Ben Brereton Diaz has been linked to move from Blackburn to a bigger club for a few years now, especially after his 22 goal season in the Championship last season, but now the 23 year old is out of contract in the summer, it’s likely that the striker will either leave this window so Blackburn can get a fee, or he will join another club for free in the summer.

Villarreal Odds: 1/5

With Villarreal under new management with former Barcelona manager Quique Setién, there seems to be a reshuffle of forwards at the club, with former Bournemouth winger Arnaut Danjuma looking around Europe for a new club and youngster Nicolas Jackson looking to join Southampton.

With Setién losing two quality forwards, he would likely demand at least one more join this window to keep up Villarrael’s battle for a top-four spot in La Liga, which could see them try and convince Blackburn to let him go this month, despite rumoured to have already convinced him to join the club on a free in the summer.

Everton Odds: 10/1

Frank Lampard and Everton are in a desperate situation right now, with relegation on the cards yet again this season, which could cause some panic buys towards the end of this window, and with Brereton Diaz out of contract in the summer, it could pose a cheaper target for Everton’s board to try and bolster Lampard’s lacklustre attacking line.

Brereton Diaz could provide some spark in an Everton attack that has only scored 15 goals in 19 games, with their top scorer being Demarai Gray and Anthony Gordon with three goals, whilst he himself has nine in the Championship, and other than goals, he would bring some fight to an Everton side that are lacking any sort of confidence and seem to shrivel when they are challenged in a game.

Everton are priced at 10/1 to sign Brereton Diaz in January.

Sevilla Odds: 12/1

The rumours in the summer were that Sevilla were really keen to bring in Brereton Diaz, but were unwilling to pay the Blackburn asking price, which they might be regretting right now as they currently sit in the relegation zone in La Liga, and had to sack their manager Julian Lopetegui mid-season, replacing him with Jorge Sampaoli, who has also struggled to move them up the league.

Whilst their defence isn’t the greatest, their attack is just as bad, with only four players managing more than one goal, which could leave them desperate late on into this window, and with their past links to Brereton Diaz, he could be on their list to try and reinforce a massively underperforming squad.

Sevilla are priced at 12/1 to acquire Brereton Diaz in the current transfer window.

Valencia Odds: 14/1

Valencia are another club who were lining up a move for Brereton Diaz, but like other clubs were unwilling to match the asking price from Blackburn Rovers, and chose to sign Edinson Cavani on a free transfer instead.

The Bats are unlikely to be spending money on Brereton Diaz this winter, with Blackburn asking for a similar price as in the summer, meaning the best chance of signing him for Gennaro Gattuso are convincing him to join them on a free transfer over other clubs.

Brereton Diaz is priced at 14/1 to make the move to Valencia.

West Ham United Odds: 16/1

West Ham have been linked to Brereton Diaz for a few years now, but have never pulled the trigger for the Chilean forward, and their recent move for Danny Ings looks as if the rumours of Brereton Diaz joining the Hammers will end.

However, like with the Ings move, transfers can happen out of nowhere, and with West Ham in an unexpected relegation battle this season, with their attack faltering, only scoring 15 goals so far this season, the board could become desperate and move for Brereton Diaz to try and guarantee West Ham’s place back in the Premier League.

Brereton Diaz is priced at 16/1 to make the switch from Ewood Park to the London Stadium.
