Reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano recently broke the news that Arsenal had been in contact with the Norwich man, as Spanish manager Mikel Arteta has identified that his team needs more creativity, as the Gunners are the 13th top scorers in the Premier League, a statistic that they will need to improve on if they are to qualify for Europe again this season.

Buendia is versatile which is useful for Arteta’s side, as he can play as a number eight, as well as a winger. Arsenal have been desperate for an attacking midfielder this season since Mesut Ozil was omitted from their domestic and European squads for “footballing reasons”. Tottenham Hotspur are another club that have been linked with the Argentinian winger, with manager Jose Mourinho being known for liking to have a lot of squad depth.

Mourinho’s side have a lot of players who can play out wide, such as Erik Lamela, Lucas Moura, Gareth Bale, Steven Bergwijn and Hung-Min Son, but with the Canaries midfielder being able to play in behind the striker, he may be looked upon as an option, especially due to the fact that Dele Alli has only played 74 minutes in the Premier League this season due to poor form at the end of the last campaign, meaning that Mourinho has veered away from the 4-2-3-1 formation that he has typically lined up with in the past. `
