Joao Felix could be on his way out of Atletico Madrid having been allowed to join Chelsea on loan for the second half of last season following a reported fallout with Diego Simeone.

The 23-year-old Portugal international played a total of 20 games for the Blues last season, managing just four goals. However, despite this, the Atletico man actually had a better record at the Wanda Metropolitano, scoring five times and managing three assists in 20 appearances across all competitions.

Having shown a lot of potential throughout the early years of his career, it will be interesting to see if any club takes a chance on the Portuguese forward.

In July 2019, Atletico paid a total of £113m to sign Felix from Benfica, with the Portugal international signing a seven-year contract.

During his time under Simeone’s management, Felix has scored a total of 34 goals and created 18 assists in 131 matches across all competitions which is a respectable effort, however, considering the price that the La Liga outfit paid for the 23-year-old, they would have also expected better.

One potential sticking point for Felix leaving Atletico is the fact that the Spanis outfit are looking to recoup a large amount of what they spent on him having arguably overpaid for his signature.

PSG are the favourites to sign Felix from Atletico Madrid, as the Ligue 1 outfit have changed their recruitment strategy since the arrival of Luis Campos.

With the likes of Lionel Messi leaving the Parc des Princes, there is a lot of wages that has been freed up should the Parisians decide to replace the Argentine with the likes of Felix who would no doubt thrive in Ligue 1.

On top of this, there are rumours that PSG are looking to rebuild their squad, with the likes of Kylian Mbappe having just one year left on his contract, while Neymar has reportedly also been made surplus to requirements.

So far this summer, the Saudi Pro League has been a popular destination for high-profile players following the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund’s heavy investment in their domestic league in order to develop the sport in the country.

With the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante and more plying their trades in this competition, could Felix perhaps become one of the latest stars to join this league? After all, it would be a major coup to get a high-quality player that is yet to hit his prime across to the league. With Bernardo Silva being heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia and fellow countryman Ruben Neves transferring there this summer, could Felix join them?

Newcastle United have started their summer transfer window in sensational style following their purchase of Sandro Tonali from AC Milan, could they be about to add more high-quality talent to their squad in a bid to maintain their Champions League status?

The Magpies reached the Champions League against all odds last season and will be looking to improve their squad as a whole, hence why the signing of Felix could be realistic.

Versatility is often a good trait to have in a squad, something that Felix provides as he is able to play all across the front three, potentially seeing the Toon Army upgrade on the likes of Miguel Almiron and Callum Wilson, despite the latter forward’s heroics last season. On top of this, with rumours suggesting that Newcastle could look to offload Allan Saint-Maximin, room could be made for the 23-year-old to flourish at St James Park.

Inter Milan will be looking at the possibility of signing Felix, with a loan move looking most likely as the Nerazzuri have been told that Chelsea are only open to selling Romelu Lukaku.

Another concern for Inter will be the fact that 37-year-old Bosnian striker Edin Dezko has also departed the San Siro club in order to move to Fenerbahce, leaving them with a gaping hole in their squad.

Bayern Munich are still on the lookout for a new striker having failed to sign an adequate replacement for Robert Lewandowski following the Polish forward’s move to Barcelona last summer.

Sadio Mane managed to score just seven Bundesliga goals last summer and has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League. At the same time, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting remains as the Bavarian club’s only out-and-out striker.

It would certainly be interesting to see how Felix would fare if he was to sign for Bayern, as despite Choupo-Moting’s struggles in England when playing for Stoke, the Cameroon international found the back of the net 17 times and created four assists in 30 appearances last season.
