Nicolas Pepe Transfer News & Odds

Nicolas Pepe looks likely to leave Arsenal after the Gunners' recent transfer spree that has seen the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Marquinhos and Fabio Vieira, with further signings expected to arrive in the forthcoming weeks in the shape of Raphinha from Leeds United and Youri Tielemans of Leicester City.

Despite not being injured during last season's Premier League schedule, Pepe only featured in 681 minutes of top-flight action. The Ivorian will likely look to leave this summer with further signings expected to knock him down the pecking order.

Pepe was initially signed for £72m and hasn’t lived up to that transfer fee, despite managing 27 goals and 21 assists in 112 matches for Arsenal. Perhaps this is because expectations were inflated following the superb 2018/19 season he had for Lille when he managed 23 goals and 12 assists in 41 games.

PSG Odds: 11/4

PSG are reportedly in the running to sign Pepe from Arsenal as they look to make additions to their squad that will allow them to compete on all fronts next season.

With Angel Di Maria leaving the Parc des Princes on a free transfer this summer and looking likely for a move to Juventus, Pepe could be an ideal replacement, as the Ivorian will likely come at a cut-price fee, and also has a history of a good goalscoring rate in Ligue 1, hence why Arsenal signed him from Lille.

On top of this, Pepe could arrive on a cheaper wage than Di Maria, whilst also providing a good squad option that is unlikely to kick up a fuss if he is used as a rotational option behind the likes of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.

Newcastle United Odds: 6/1

Newcastle United have been linked with a move for Pepe as Eddie Howe looks to add more quality options to his squad as the Magpies look to push up the league table once again this season.

With Saint-Maximin offering an attacking outlet down the left-wing, Newcastle ought to balance their line-up out by having another goal threat on the right-hand side, of which Pepe could be that man, as he would be an inverted winger with the support of Kieran Trippier down the wing.

Miguel Almiron and Jeff Hendrick are both expected to depart St James’ Park this summer, meaning that new arrivals for the right-wing are expected to arrive in due course.

Newcastle are priced at 6/1 to sign Pepe ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Ajax Odds: 7/1

Ajax are surprise candidates on this list to sign Pepe considering their usual emphasis on youth and players from the Netherlands.

However, the Amsterdam club could see the likes of Antony leave this summer due to strong interest from Manchester United for the Brazilian, which could yield a high fee for the Dutch Eredivisie side.

Pepe would fit the mould of Antony, as he is an inside forward who is strong on his left foot, meaning that their game style wouldn’t have to change too much, and of late, Ajax have had success with recent signings from the Premier League, with Dusan Tadic and Sebastien Haller both impressing.

Pepe is priced at 7/1 to make the switch from Arsenal to Ajax.

Lille Odds: 8/1

A return to Lille could well be on the cards for the 27-year-old Ivorian.

Pepe played just two seasons for Lille, having joined from Angers for a measly €10 million fee, considering that he was sold for significantly more than this just two years later.

During his time at the Stade Pierre Mauroy, Pepe was nothing short of sensational, scoring 37 and assisting 18 in 79 matches. With the Ligue 1 outfit expected to potentially rake in some decent transfer fees for the likes of Sven Botman and Renato Sanches this summer, there is every chance that they could re-sign their former Ivorian talisman.

Pepe is priced at 8/1 to make a return to Lille this summer.

Marseille Odds: 10/1

Marseille could also be an option for Pepe, as they look to add strength in depth to their side which finished second place in Ligue 1 last season.

The Ivorian could provide good competition for Cengiz Under who is expected to be signed up having managed 10 goals in Ligue 1 last season. The Turkey international has a €9 million option to buy in his loan contract from AS Roma.

With Under finding a lot of success in Ligue 1, the signing of Pepe could be ideal, having showcased his abilities in the past for Lille, whilst also being a left-footed inside forward, a formula that has shown a lot of success for Les Bleus.

Marseille are priced at 10/1 to acquire Pepe from Arsenal.
