Wilfried Zaha Transfer News & Odds

Wilfried Zaha Transfer News & Odds

Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha could be on his way out of Selhurst Park in January, as the Ivory Coast international’s contract expires in the summer of 2023, meaning that this could be the Eagles' last chance to earn money from any transfer dealings.

The 30-year-old is a Palace legend, having made 443 appearances for the Selhurst Park club across four different spells, having gone on loan to the Eagles twice from Manchester United.

Zaha may see this as the last chance to play for one of the Premier League’s ‘Big Six’. With contract talks reportedly stalling, here, we take a look at the clubs that are interested in the Ivorian.

Liverpool 10/1
Newcastle United 12/1

Aston Villa Odds: 2/1

Aston Villa are the bookmakers’ favourite to sign Zaha at present and are priced at 2/1 to do so. Could this be down to the fact that Arsenal were persistently linked to the Palace man when Emery was manager?

It is well known that Emery is a fan of Zaha and likes players with tactical versatility, with Zaha having a similar profile to that of Arnaut Danjuma of Villarreal, a player whom Emery seemed to get the best out of.

On top of this, Villa have often lacked creativity and only have three wingers in their squad at present, in the shapes of Emi Buendia, Leon Bailey and Philippe Coutinho, with Ashley Young now predominantly playing as a full-back. The signing of Zaha for a reduced fee could help to enhance the overall quality and depth of the Villains' squad.

Nottingham Forest Odds: 3/1

Heavy-spending Nottingham Forest are also in the race to sign Zaha, despite signing a total of 24 signings since the start of the summer transfer window after the announcement of Gustavo Scarpa’s arrival from Palmeiras.

Forest are currently the second-lowest scorers in the Premier League with just 11 goals to their name from 15 matches, a statistic that will have to change if they are to stay up. Zaha would undoubtedly slot right into their team and would be an upgrade in quality.

Zaha is priced at 3/1 to join Nottingham Forest.

Everton Odds: 4/1

Everton have had a long-standing interest in Zaha, could they finally make a move happen for the Palace man?

The Toffees have often struggled with creativity due to the lack of physicality they have up front when Dominic Calvert-Lewin is unavailable, could Zaha be the man to join the Toffees and step up by providing pace, flair and creativity that brings other players into the game. After all, Everton haven’t replaced Richarlison in an efficient manner.

Back in August 2019, Everton had a bid of £70m plus James McCarthy and Cenk Tosun rejected for Zaha. The Toffees are priced at 4/1 to take the 30-year-old to Goodison Park.

West Ham Odds: 4/1

West Ham United will be looking to make improvements to their side for the second half of the season, as the Hammers currently sit 16th in the Premier League table while having Europa Conference League football to contend with.

David Moyes’ side are just one point above the relegation zone and in desperate need of a high-quality left-winger to complement the likes of Gianluca Scamacca and Jarrod Bowen in attack.

Zaha is priced at 4/1 to join the Hammers in January.

Chelsea Odds: 6/1

It is perhaps a surprise to see Chelsea on this list, but, when considering Todd Boehly’s summer spending spree, as well as other factors, there is a chance that Zaha could move to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have scored just 17 goals in 14 Premier League matches and are sliding down the table due to their feeble attacking statistics that see them on 23 fewer goals than the likes of Manchester City.

With rumours linking Christian Pulisic with a move away from Chelsea, perhaps Zaha could join to play on the left-hand side, while Raheem Sterling could switch back across to the right in order to support Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang up-front.

Chelsea are priced at 6/1 to acquire Zaha from Palace.

Arsenal Odds: 8/1

Following years of speculation, could Zaha be about to make a move to Premier League leaders Arsenal?

Reports have suggested that Gabriel Jesus could be out injured for around three months, so a move for Zaha could be crucial in Arsenal maintaining their place at the top of the Premier League until the Brazilian returns.

With the Palace man likely available for a low price due to his contract situation, this could be an ideal opportunity for the Gunners to land their man.

Zaha is priced at 8/1 to move to Arsenal.

Liverpool Odds: 10/1

Liverpool are also in the frame for the ex-United man, as Jurgen Klopp’s side looks to bolster their squad in order to make a push for a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Zaha has often caused the Reds a lot of problems when facing Palace, having even scored against them in a 1-1 draw at Anfield. With the likes of Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota being injured, perhaps the Ivorian could give Klopp’s men some much-needed depth and replace some of the goals that they have lacked since Sadio Mane’s departure to Bayern Munich in the summer.

Liverpool are priced at 10/1 to sign Zaha in the upcoming transfer window.

Newcastle United Odds: 12/1

The final club on this list to be linked to Zaha is Newcastle United, who are pushing for a place in next season’s Champions League.

Newcastle will be looking to strengthen their attacking options as they are currently reliant on the forward three of Miguel Almiron, Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin, but, are undoubtedly left short should any of them suffer an injury. With Zaha able to play across all of the front three positions, as well as a second striker, a move for the 30-year-old at a cut-price fee would make good sense.

Newcastle are priced at 12/1 to snap up Zaha from Palace in January.
