Premier League 2021/22 Top Four Odds – Leicester City at 7/2

Last season’s top four are the obvious favourites to finish in the Champions League qualification places, with defending Premier League champions Manchester City coming in at 1/33, whilst Liverpool are expected to be far stronger than the side they looked like last campaign due to the returns of the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez seeing them priced up at 2/9, whilst champions of Europe Chelsea come in at 1/4 compared to last campaign’s runners-up Manchester United at 2/5.

CHELSEA, LIVERPOOL, MANCHESTER CITY & MANCHESTER UTD ALL TO FINISH TOP 4 @ 6/4

Leicester City Odds: 7/2

Brendan Rodgers and Leicester City will be desperate coming into the 2021/22 season to break their top four duck, having lost out on the final days of both of the last two seasons, following a 2-0 loss at the King Power Stadium in July 2020 to United which saw both the Red Devils and Chelsea finish ahead of the Foxes, as well as losing on matchday 38 to Tottenham Hotspur last time out 4-2, allowing Chelsea to once again finish ahead of them.

The Foxes won the FA Cup last season against the Blues though, so ultimately know what it takes to be successful against Thomas Tuchel’s side, and they will be determined to take the fight to the rest of the league once again having as last season, only City and United won more league games than Leicester’s 20.

So far this summer, Rodgers’ side have shown intent to kick on, having signed 22-year-old defensive midfielder Boubakary Soumaré from Ligue 1 champions Lille, of which the former PSG youngster played a vital role in the success of his old side, as well as Zambian forward Patson Daka from RB Salzburg who managed 46 goal contributions in 42 matches.

Last season it was the Foxes defensive record that actually let them down, as they conceded 50, which is 14 more than Chelsea and eight more than Liverpool, but actually scored 68, the same amount as Jurgen Klopp’s side and 10 more than Chelsea, so perhaps the signature of Soumare could help to negate some of the goals conceded, as well as the rumoured signing of Ryan Bertrand on a free from Southampton.

LEICESTER CITY TO FINISH IN THE TOP 4 @ 7/2

Arsenal Odds: 4/1

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are priced at 4/1 having finished the season in much better shape than they started it, following a turbulent start which saw them pick up just 10 points in their next 12 matches after matchday two. However, following a strong finish which saw Arsenal win their last five matches of the season, the Gunners found themselves in eighth place at the end of the season, which in itself could be useful.

Arsenal’s eighth-placed finish means that they won’t have any European football to contend with such as the Europa League or the Europa Conference League, meaning that they can purely focus on the league campaign to qualify for the Champions League. However, the Gunners will need to carry on their form at the tail end of last season whilst significantly upgrading across the pitch, as they only managed 55 goals as their midfield generally lacked creativity, as well as often emphasising too much on a defensive setup due to the quality of their defenders.

Following the signing of Nuno Tavares from Benfica, Gunners fans will be hoping for a lot more and especially a good replacement for the likes of Granit Xhaka who looks AS Roma bound, as well as an improved goalscoring season from Pierre Emerick Aubameyang who netted just 10 times in 29 appearances, 12 fewer than he managed in each of his two previous campaigns.

ARSENAL TO FINISH IN THE TOP 4 @ 4/1

Tottenham Hotspur: 4/1

Tottenham Hotspur will start the new season under the management of former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Nuno Espirito Santo also hoping for a much-improved campaign than the last under Jose Mourinho and Ryan Mason.

Last season Spurs looked in good shape up until December, as they were fighting at the top of the table until a late loss to Liverpool at Anfield on 16th December. Following that game, Spurs picked up just 25 more points which cost Mourinho his job following a 2-2 draw away at Everton on 16th April. Eventually, the Lilywhites finished in seventh on 62 points, five shy of the Champions League places.

It will be integral for Santos to keep hold of star players such as Harry Kane and Son Heung-min to enhance their chances of finishing in and amongst the top four to qualify for the Champions League next season, as well as translating the excellent record he had against the stereotypical ‘big six’ whilst manager of Wolves.

Spurs are yet to make any new signings so far for the upcoming season, although according to the likes of Fabrizio Romano, they are close to a deal for 22-year-old Bologna centre-back Takehiro Tomiyasu, which could be a step in the right direction, as Tottenham’s defence will need to be less leaky than that which conceded 45 times last campaign.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TO FINISH IN THE TOP 4 @ 4/1

Other Top Four Hopefuls

Everton and Leeds United are both priced at 11/1 to finish in the top four in the 2021/22 campaign. The Toffees will be looking for renewed optimism under manager Rafa Benitez and will be looking to strengthen their squad following a poor showing last time out in 10th place having started the season in good form.

Meanwhile, Marcelo Bielsa’s side have already started to show their intent to make progress on their impressive ninth-placed finish last time out, having signed Jack Harrison from City, as well as making the purchase of highly-rated Barcelona left-back Junior Firpo to replace the departed Ezgjan Alioski.

West Ham are at 16/1 having narrowly missed out on the Champions League last season having finished on 65 points, just two shy of fourth-placed Chelsea although it would take some effort for the Hammers to go further than last season’s success with star player Declan Rice wanted by the likes of United and Chelsea, as well as currently being without Jesse Lingard since his return back to Old Trafford, following a loan spell at the Irons that saw him score nine and make five assists in 16 games.
