            Everton vs. Brentford - Prediction

Brentford's form is much stronger than Everton's but their away form is a real concern heading into this game, with the Bees having lost all five of their away games this season.

Both teams to score feels likely, with both sides having found the back of the net in four of Everton's last five at home and all of Brentford's last five.

Everton have drawn both of their last two games at Goodison Park so we think they look a good bet to share the spoils once again. Everton 1-1 Brentford.

Everton vs. Brentford: Prediction, Preview & Betting Tips

Everton are hoping to put some daylight between themselves and the relegation zone as they take on Brentford in the Premier League.

            • Date: 23/11/2024
            • Kick-off time: 15:00
            • Location: Goodison Park, Liverpool

Everton are currently 16th in the Premier League with ten points from 11 games. It hasn't been the smoothest of starts to the Premier League season for Everton but it was never expected to be, with the Toffees having a squad without much standout quality, particularly in the forward positions.

Times have been precarious for Everton over the last few years with the club scrambling to find a new owner amidst several failed takeover attempts and fraudulent bidders in light of looming financial issues, and despite the fact a new owner has been found, worries have still not been eased with the incoming owners, The Friedkin Group, currently doing a very questionable job at AS Roma, the other club that comprises a large part of their investment portfolio.

Everton are playing their final season at Goodison Park, and the fans are desperate for some lasting memories to be created before they finally depart for what they hope will be greener pastures, but right now, it looks like this season will be little more than a relegation dog fight. As a result, manager Sean Dyche is under mounting pressure to produce this season, and with his team a pretty dull watch at present it's hard for them to keep the fans on their side.

Everton have scored just ten league goals this season, the third-lowest total in the league, and sit just three points above the relegation zone, so it's not hard to see why the fans are frustrated by the team's showings. However, there is not a lot of quality in this Everton team, so without major reinforcements in January, it's hard to see how their fortunes can improve in the short term.

Whether Dyche makes it until the end of the season remains to be seen, but losing home games against any side outside of the "Big Six" will only subject him and the team to more intense scrutiny.

Brentford are currently 11th in the Premier League with 16 points from ten games. It's been a decent start to the season for Brentford who are eying a top half finish.

The squad has been ravaged by injuries in the opening months of the campaign so it's been hard for the team to hit its ceiling, but that makes their prospects all the more exciting, with many fans feeling as though they still have several gears to move through yet.

The big concern for Brentford has been their defensive showings, which simply haven't been good enough. The Bees have conceded a whopping 22 goals in the league, a total that only Wolverhampton Wanderers can better (or worsen). A leaky defence is hugely uncharacteristic of Thomas Frank's Brentford team and the Danish manager will no doubt be desperately trying to find solutions.

If they can shore up at the back, that will clear the pathway for the side to really kick on this season as the attack has been faultless, with Brentford recording 22 goals in ten games, most of which have been scored by Bryan Mbeumo (8) and Yoane Wissa (7), both of whom have enjoyed an excellent season so far.

Brentford have really struggled away from home this season and they'll see this fixture as a golden opportunity to start to turn their away fortunes around, with their opponents both struggling and under palpable pressure.

            Where To Watch

This game won't be televised live in the UK, but full radio coverage will be provided by BBC Radio Merseyside.

            Team News

            Everton Team News:

Everton have still got a fairly lengthy injury list with Tim Iroegbunam, Séamus Coleman, James Garner, Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti all still on the sidelines.

Jarrad Branthwaite is also a doubt after being forced to withdraw from the England squad last week, so Michael Keane could be set to reclaim his place in the starting XI.

Predicted lineup: Pickford; Young, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko; Gueye, Mangala; Lindstrøm, Doucouré, Ndiaye; Calvert-Lewin.

            Brentford Team News:

The Bees come into this one unable to call upon the services of Kristoffer Ajer, Josh Dasilva, Gustavo Nunes, Igor Thiago, Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey, although the latter four are nearing a return from long-term absences.

Yoane Wissa is also a doubt for the Bees in what would be a major blow to their chances.

Predicted lineup: Flekken; Van den Berg, Collins, Pinnock, Lewis-Potter; Jensen, Nørgaard, Janelt; Mbeumo, Wissa, Schade.

Everton vs. Brentford - Form Guide

Everton are coming into this game in poor shape having won only one of their last five games. The Toffees' most recent outing was a 0-0 draw away at West Ham United, a result that followed a 1-0 loss against fellow strugglers Southampton which marked a low point in their season.

Before that, Everton drew 1-1 with Fulham, where striker Beto netted a stoppage-time equaliser. That was preceded by a 2-0 win over Ipswich Town away from home where Iliman Ndiaye and Michael Keane gave Sean Dyche's men a comfortable win.

That result preceded a 0-0 draw against Newcastle United.

Brentford's form is more respectable with the Bees having won three of their last five games. Last time out, goals from Yoane Wissa and Mikkel Damsgaard gave them a 3-2 win over Bournemouth. That result followed a 2-1 defeat to Fulham thanks to a heartbreaking late turnaround from the opposition.

A 4-3 win over Ipswich Town followed that, where Bryan Mbeumo and Wissa both bagged braces, which was preceded by a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United.

Prior to that, Brentford beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 5-3, where Nathan Collins, Mbeumo, Christian Nørgaard, Ethan Pinnock and Fábio Carvalho all registered on the scoresheet.
