Although it would take a lot, perhaps it’s not so unrealistic for Manchester United to concede 15 or more Premier League goals in their next three matches.

The Red Devils are yet to find the balance in their squad and have several square pegs fitting in round holes, most notably, their goalkeeper, David De Gea who was largely culpable for the majority of the four first-half goals that they conceded at Brentford last time out.

The Old Trafford club are yet to score a goal via one of their own players this season, with Alexis Mac Allister’s own goal on the opening weekend of the season in their 2-1 loss to Brighton being their only goal.

In the 2021/22 season, United failed to beat any of Liverpool, Leicester City or Southampton in the Premier League.

When City played United in the 2021/22 campaign, the Red Devils conceded six goals to their bitter city rivals over the course of two games, however, in the grand scheme of things, they did well to let in just six when considering how poorly they performed in both derby matches.

United managed just three shots on target in two matches against City, whilst their neighbours accumulated 15 from 40 shots.

This season, the Sky Blues could be a completely different prospect when attacking due to the addition of Erling Haaland, a potential nightmare for the likes of Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez.

The Red Devils' results against Liverpool and City were about as emphatic as one can get in terms of defeats.

Under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, United were hammered 5-0 at home by Liverpool and soundly defeated 2-0 at Old Trafford by City where they managed just five shots to Pep Guardiola’s sides’ 16, with just 32% possession to their name.

Ralf Rangnick’s tenure saw United further regress, as they were beaten 4-0 at Anfield by Liverpool and 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium by City.
