Our 5 Picks for Fantasy Five Ahead of the 2022/23 Premier League Season

Fantasy Five

Tottenham vs Southampton: Ivan Perisic - 6.5 Points

Tottenham defender Ivan Perisic could be one of the signings of the summer if the Croatian can replicate the form he showed at Inter Milan last season when playing as a left-wing-back.

The Croatian managed to score ten and create nine assists in 48 appearances across all competitions for Inter, of which either would be valuable to beating his target score of 6.5, especially with a goal counting as six points for a defender, whilst an assist would count as three points.

If Spurs can keep a clean sheet in this fixture then that could also be an extra four points on his tally.

Leeds United vs Wolves: Pedro Neto - 7.5 Points

Pedro Neto will be hoping to have a bright start to the season having spent the majority of last campaign on the sidelines due to injury.

The 22-year-old Portuguese winger has scored nine Premier League goals and created 10 assists for Wolves in 73 appearances, averaging a goal contribution every 207 minutes. Neto notably managed to score in Wolves’ 3-1 loss at Anfield on the final day of the season - this would be valuable for his score as a goal is worth five points for a midfielder.

Neto will likely fancy his chances against a Leeds outfit that leaked 79 goals in 38 league matches last season. What could also enhance the Portugueseman’s chances, is if his side can keep a clean sheet. Last season, Bruno Lage’s men let in just 43 goals. A clean sheet is worth one point for a midfielder.

Everton vs Chelsea: Kai Havertz - 6.5 Points

Everton against Chelsea could be an entertaining game on Saturday night, as the Blues look to avenge their 1-0 loss to the Toffees last May.

Frank Lampard’s men conceded 66 times in 38 matches, and Thomas Tuchel will be hoping that Kai Havertz can be the man to unlock Everton’s defence. The German is down as a forward, meaning that a goal would count as four points, whilst an assist would count for three (as is the case for every position).

Havertz managed eight Premier League goals last season, as well as four assists in 29 matches having played an array of positions such as attacking midfielder, left-wing and as a centre forward.

Manchester United vs Brighton & Hove Albion: Jadon Sancho - 6.5 Points

Jadon Sancho will be determined to have a much-improved second season at Manchester United having only managed five goals and three assists in what was a turbulent 2021/22 campaign for the Red Devils.

The 22-year-old will be looking to refind his Borussia Dortmund form under the management of Erik ten Hag, having scored 50 goals and created 64 assists in 136 appearances for the Black and Yellows.

Sancho was United’s top scorer in pre-season, as he managed to fire in three goals, doing so against Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa. Each of these goals would count for five points if they were scored in a Premier League match, as he is down as a midfielder.

West Ham vs Manchester City: Bernardo Silva - 7.5 Points

The fifth and final player we have chosen is Manchester City midfielder, Bernardo Silva.

Silva played a vital role last season as the Citizens won the Premier League title for the fourth time in five seasons, scoring eight and creating four assists in 35 games.

The last meeting between West Ham and City resulted in a 2-2 draw at the London Stadium and across the last five matches between these two at the home of the Hammers in the Premier League, there have been 20 goals, of which 16 of these have been for City.
