          Tottenham vs Fulham Prediction

Tottenham Hotspur should be the favourites in this fixture, and we are backing them to record a comfortable win at home. The hosts have won four of their previous six at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and three of their last five overall in the Premier League.

Fulham have struggled of late, winning just twice on their travels in their last five away league games. Goals are usually a rarity in this fixture, with less than 2.5 goals scored in five of the previous seven meetings between the two teams. James Maddison has been in excellent form for Ange Postecoglou’s side in recent weeks, with four goal contributions in his last five league appearances – including a brace against Man City last time out – Tottenham 2-0 Fulham

Tottenham vs Fulham: Preview & Prediction

Tottenham welcome fellow Londoners Fulham to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, looking to build on a huge win in their last league outing.

          Date: 01/12/24

          Kick-off time: 13:30

          Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

It has been an inconsistent season for Tottenham, but they sit in sixth place after 12 games, just three points behind the top four. Their mixed play is highlighted by six wins and five losses, the most defeats of any team in the top half. Spurs’ unpredictability is highlighted by the results in their last two league games. Last time out they beat Man City 4-0 at the Etihad in a result which sent shockwaves across the league, but this followed a 2-1 home defeat against newly-promoted Ipswich.

Looking to replicate Ipswich’s success is Fulham, who are separated from their opponents by just a single point. They are in ninth place, but such is the congestion in the table, a defeat could drop them as low as 15th, depending on other results. They come into this one on the back of a poor result, though, following a 4-1 home loss to struggling Wolves.

With 27 goals scored, Spurs are the league’s top scorers and will be confident in adding to their tally against a visiting defence who have kept just one clean sheet in their last six. The hosts have scored in all but two games this season in all competitions, with their recent success helped by the form of James Maddison and Dominic Solanke. Maddison scored a brace at Man City, and the pair have combined for nine goals overall. Brennan Johnson has also been a key contributor with five goals.

Fulham will lean on ex-Arsenal duo Emile Smith Rowe and Alex Iwobi to provide the quality needed to break down Spurs, who own the league’s joint-third best defensive record. The pair have scored three goals each so far, trailing only Raul Jimenez’s tally of four for the club. Despite Spurs’ strong record, it is often tough to tell which version of the side will turn up, and Fulham could take advantage of this vulnerability.

As expected, Tottenham have the superior record in this fixture. They have been dominant in recent years, with Fulham picking up just one win in the last 11 meetings in all competitions. In fact, they have picked up just four points overall in the last nine Premier League games. However, in the latest meeting between the pair in March, Fulham were 3-0 winners at Craven Cottage, with goals from Rodrigo Muniz (x2) and Sasa Lukic. Spurs won the reverse fixture 2-0 earlier in the campaign.

          Form Guide

          Tottenham:

In their last five games, Tottenham have won two, lost two and drawn one. It has been an inconsistent stretch for Spurs, but it has included some shocking results. This run started with an impressive victory against Aston Villa. Despite falling behind, they came out on top 4-1 winners, with goals from Brennan Johnson, Dominic Solanke (x2) and James Maddison.

Attention shifted to Europa League action, where they fell to a 3-2 defeat at Galatasaray. Will Lankshear cancelled out an earlier opener from the hosts, before getting sent off in the second half. Victor Osimhen netted a brace to make it 3-1. Solanke pulled one back but they could not complete the comeback.

Their losing form extended into the Premier League as they were condemned to a shock defeat at home to Ipswich before the international break. Sammie Szmodics and Liam Delap put the visitors in front before Rodrigo Bentancur halved the deficit. However, upon their return they faced Man City and were convincing 4-0 winners. Maddison scored a brace, before goals from Pedro Porro and Johnson completed the rout. Their most recent game was against Roma in Europe. They drew 2-2 after squandering a lead twice, including in second half stoppage time.

          Fulham:

In their last five games, Fulham have won two, lost two and drawn one. It has also been a mixed stretch for Fulham, as they have been unable to find any consistency. This run began with defeat at home to Aston Villa. Villa won 3-1, despite the hosts taking a very early lead through Raul Jimenez.

A 1-1 draw at struggling Everton followed, resulting in more points dropped in disappointing fashion. Alex Iwobi gave Fulham the lead with half an hour to go, but they could not hold on with Beto scoring a 94th minute equaliser for The Toffees. They responded well to this setback with a 2-1 home win over West London rivals Brentford. However, it took some late heroics from Harry Wilson as he netted twice in stoppage time to steal three points after The Bees held the lead for the majority of the game.

Victory at Crystal Palace made it two wins in a row, with Emile Smith Rowe and Wilson both on the scoresheet. Last time out they were condemned to a crushing 4-1 home defeat by Wolves. Fulham took the lead through Iwobi, but fell apart in the second half as their visitors took control.
