Latest News

Due to the summer transfer window being extended to October 6th, the rumours have not

gone away with many managers willing to sign their targets before the season starts in 11

days.

As we did throughout December and January, we’ll be keeping a close eye on the odds as

they come out and providing you with bet slip links should you like the look of the price and

back the transfer. Please note that all odds are correct as of 01/09/20 and are subject to

change.

Lionel Messi to Manchester City - 8/11

By now, every footballing fan will have heard about the ongoing saga about Lionel Messi,

and if he will leave Barcelona after nearly 20 years at the club.

With former Catalonian club manager, Pep Guardiola, being a close mentor of the

Argentinean, a move to the Etihad is a perfect fit. This is especially true as they are one of

the few clubs who can outright afford him without any major financial concerns.

City are very positive in their chase for Messi, with a preparation of a £450m bid to acquire

his services (according to SPORT via BBC Sport). Although, Barcelona could stand with

their £700m release clause which the LaLiga has now sided with the club on.

Due to the uncertainty of what will occur with the Barcelona club legend, many are still

positive that he will end up at Manchester City. Messi is currently priced at odds of 8/11 to

move to the Etihad.

Thiago Alacantara to Liverpool - 4/6

One of the major players this transfer window that has been linked to Liverpool is

Champions League winner Thiago Alacantara.

Frequently in the transfer window, it has been a case of will he or won’t he join, after his

strong performances in Europe post restart. Jurgen Klopp is a great admirer of the Spanish

midfielder and has said in a recent interview that he is a ‘great player’ however, as always,

he declines to state anything further on the situation.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich are set on their €30m valuation which

Liverpool has been given and will allow other offers in a few days if they don’t comply.

Many believe that the Reds of Merseyside are holding out on the Bayern Munich player as

his contract expires in six months. This could prove to be risky with the mounting interest.

Currently priced at odds of 4/6, are Thiago chances of joining Liverpool this transfer window.

Dayot Upamecano to Manchester United - 9/4

With Manchester United awaiting Donny Van de Beek signature in the coming hours,

attention for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may turn to his defence. ESPN has reported that Dayot

Upamecano, is an ideal target for United as a partner for Harry Maguire in defence.

The RB Leipzig defender is 21 years old and was a major part of the German’s success in

the Champions League this season as they reached the quarter-finals, defeating teams such

as Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspurs.

However, the French defender has signed a new contract with Leipzig ahead of these

rumours with the Leipzig twitter account aiming this at Manchester United.

As a result, a move may be in doubt for the Leipzig player but not off the table for

Manchester United. Upamecano is now priced at odds of 9/4 to sign for Manchester United

before October 6th.

Georginio Wijnaldum to Barcelona - EVENS

Another potential transfer that could be a major possibility is the Liverpool star, Georginio

Wijnaldum, signing for Barcelona.

This rumour has come about after former Netherlands manager, Ronald Koeman, signed for

Barcelona as their new manager. He has stated his interest on signing the Dutch midfielder

and some have suggested that he has told him not to sign a new contract. Wijnaldum’s

contract is set to expire next season, with current negotiations going on at the club.

Another factor for this move is the potential signing of Thiago from Bayern Munch, who many

believe will compete with Wijnaldum in the same role. With all this new circulating, a possible

signature this transfer window could occur with Koeman signing him this summer.

Wijnaldum is now priced with odds of 1/1 to join Barcelona in this summer transfer window.

Houssem Aouar to Arsenal - 5/2

Another transfer rumour that could see itself come to fruition is, Houssem Aouar, moving to

Arsenal.

The French newspaper, L’Equipe, stated that the Gunners are interested in signing the Lyon

midfielder with rumours of a offer of Matteo Guendouzi and cash to secure his services.

Fabrizio Romano has also stated that Aouar wants a move to the Premier League but but no

team has matched the €60m valuation, contradicting that of L’Equipe.

One major issue for the signature of Aouar is that the Gunners are set to confirm that Dani

Ceballos will rejoin the club back on loan, the Spanish midfielder plays a similar role to the of

the French player.

Currently priced with odds of 5/2, are Arsenal’s chances of signing Aouar this transfer

window.
