He's been the favourite in the 'Next Premier League Manager to go' market for a while now but no one really expected Jose Mourinho's Manchester United departure to be announced this morning. Just before 10am this morning, the clubs official Twitter confirmed that he'd be leaving Old Trafford and that a caretaker would be appointed in the meantime, with his full-time successor not arriving until the summer. This is the Red Devils' worst start to a league campaign in 28 years and they ended the weekend with an immensely underwhelming defeat to arch rivals Liverpool at Anfield, so the writing was definitely on the wall for the 55 year-old.
But despite this the news of his departure was still a massive shock to everyone in football and it leaves one of the biggest clubs in world football without a manager. They've dominated the Premier League era but ever since Sir Alex Ferguson left back in 2013 so now it's pretty fair to say that fans of other clubs are getting their own back via social media.
